2 hours later
Melissa

"Spencer?" i call when i enter the barn.

My mother and I have been taking the kids sight seeing. Giving Spencer time to catch up.

"Spencer?" i call again as i look around for her, finally heading into the room.

"Hey, are you alright?" i question when i see her laying in bed.

She doesn't answer.

I walk closer to see her tear stained cheeks, red eyes and the empty alcohol bottles by the bed.

I sigh. "So you saw Toby. What happened?"

I know this has to do with Toby, i can feel it.

April, Megan and I aren't as close.

In fact Megan and I aren't even friends anymore And April and i barely talk so i don't know anything that happens in that family anymore.

But i know the cause for her behavior is Toby, That's the only person i can think of that will affect her like this.

She shakes her head, and starts laughing

"I'm so stupid, you know that?"

I look at her, confused "how are you stupid?"

She sits up, still not facing me

"I told myself before i came here no matter what i wouldn't let him get to me, if he's moved on or not it was okay and if anything were to happen between us that was fine too. But i told myself to let him make the move, he ruined us so he has to fix us. But the second i found out he was engaged i flipped and told him i loved him. I told him we could start life together." she shakes her head, Turning to me, tears in her eyes

"All that, while i befriended his fiancée, who happens to be one of the girls who exposed all of our drama, the reason you went to jail because she wrote it on a blog. I befriended her and acted so stupid and close to her while she is engaged to Toby ans pregnant and he's happy. I feel so stupid. Of course he's happy, look at what he has."

She looks down at her fingers, i stand frozen, not expecting that and not knowing what to say.

"The worst part is, he sent many letters and i only just read them. Our lives would've been so different if i had just fucking read them!" she yells as she throws envlopes on the floor.

I sigh and walk towards her.

"It's going to be okay. Everything will be alright" is all that comes out.

She leans on me, and i hold her as she sobs into my shoulder.

I coxs her, trying to relax her.

After a while she falls asleep.

I lay her back in bed and fix her nicely.

I pick up her letters and place them on her side table, when one letter catches my eye.

It sticks out of the envlope.

I know i shouldn't read it but i can't help myself.

I pick it up, taking the letter in my hands and begin to read it.

Toby goes on about how he wants to marry Spencer but can't wait forever and that he will propose to Hanna unless spencer interjects. If she doesn't, he Knows how she truly feels.

"Oh my" i mumble.

What a messy situation

I put the letters back and head inside the main house to see the kids playing a game on their PlayStation
