Bai Qian spent the rest of the evening assisting Zhe Yan with Zhi Lans healing, personally making his medicine and spooning it into his mouth herself. No longer crying, the tears were still welled up in the corner of her eyes and she was angry at herself. Shifu was right, though she had worked hard throughout the years to cultivate and increase her powers by practicing her magic daily, there was no excuse for what she did to him.
Her face held nothing but regret and shame that Zhi Lan took pity on her. "Seventeenth, I'm fine. Would you stop weeping over me, it's making me sick." he teased her, making a choking motion as if to vomit all over her.
"Why, you ungrateful little git!" she threw at him, her tears of guilt forgotten as she stood angrily over him.
Looking up at her in mock horror, he pointed at her. "Ho Ho. You think I should be grateful for what you did to me?"
"Well, you're the one who started it!" she threw back at him.
Zhe Yan who was sitting at the low table nearby writing a script for Zhe Lans medication the following day, looked up at them. Shaking his head in annoyance, he turned to Bai Qian.
"Xiao Wu, can you just, for one night, stop antagonizing the boy? Anyone would think you two were married the way you're both carrying on. Your giving me a headache!" he chided her, his eyes rolling over Zhi Lan before turning back to his script. Picking it up he handed it to her.
"Married? To him? she asked in disgust. "Zhe Yan, I think you should write yourself a script, your brain is obviously addling in your old age." she seethed angrily at him
"Xiao Wu! Mind your words." he scolded her, but looking at him, she could sense the underlying laughter.
Snatching the script from him, she turned to Zhi Lan with a smirk on her face, as she lightly tapped it against the palm of her other hand.
Waiting for him to get the meaning of her look, she turned and laughed as she she left the room, leaving him fearful of what she was going to do to his medicine. He wouldn't it past her to add something disgusting to make him even sicker.
"High God Zhe Yan." he looked pleadingly at him.
Chuckling softly, he patted the boys shoulder and told him to rest. "She won't do anything to your medication that isnt a part of the script." he comforted him, leaving him wide eyed and unconvinced as he left the room in search of Mo Yuan.
"But....." Zhi Lan gave up. She might be the most beautiful woman ever to walk the realms, but she was an eternal pain in his side, whatever she was planning, Zhe Yan would know about it and prevent it. Sighing, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Mo Yuan was already back in his meditation cave, having heard the bickering going on in the infirmary. Their bickering had become so common, it was an integral part of Kunlun Mountain, and the thought of the two of them marrying was ridiculous even to his ears. Chuckling lightly to himself he settled in and waited for Zhe Yan.
Zhe Yan had already spoken earlier to Mo Yuan about the events that led to his return. Having already explained Xiao Wu's dedication to preserve his body and the extreme lengths she went through to achieve it, but Mo Yuan still had questions.
"Why did her family allow her to shut herself off from her fellow immortals. Surely, with her high rank, she should have married a long time ago." After the evenings events, he knew, it was a direct result of having secluded herself for so long.
"Mo Yuan, is it really that difficult to comprehend? When it came to you, she would have died willingly. In fact she almost did several times." he told him. "You are already aware she has a marriage arrangement with The Crown Prince of the Celestial Tribe, Ye Hua, however it has been 600 years and neither of them have shown any interest, in fact, they have yet to meet."
