Di Jun.  Part 2

After the initial shock, Mo Yuan began to laugh.  "Well, Di Jun, you never were one to disappoint." he smiled down at the new born baby cradled in his arms.  "Though your grand return leaves much to be desired." he added, before erupting into raucous laughter at the scowl looking back at him.

Bai Qians mother reached out to take the baby, she too wanted to see what the baby Di Jun looked like, and though he made no sound, he was very much present in the way his eyes immediately moved to see who was holding him now.

Looking down, Bai Qians mother immediately gasped.  The childs eyes were were almost crystal clear with just the slightest tinge of azure blue, and his hair, though not as long as it used to be, was almost to his shoulders.  The colour was almost white, but flecks of gold could be seen when the child moved its head.  And that was exactly what it was doing now, as he tried to work out where he was exactly.

"Your in my meditation cave on Kunlun Mountain." Mo Yuan told him as Di Jun continued to look around.  Seeing movement to his left, his head immediately turned again to see Bai Zhi and Zhe Yan enter and quickly move to look at him.

Bai Zhi who automatically noticed the startling similarities to his old form, frowned down at him.  His eyes would in time take on their original colour though his hair may keep its golden flecks as he grows.  He was also quite long, so he should also reach his original height, though going by the deep frown that was looking back him, the emotions his wife gave to him, meant he was feeling something, and strongly.  "Can you speak Di Jun?" he asked him, which merely caused everyone to laugh as Di Jun scowled back.

"Well of course he can't speak." laughed Zhe Yan.  "He has yet to develop the muscles in his  larynx, which shouldn't be too much of a problem for him.  Though with his new emotions, we may not be able to shut him up." causing everyone to laugh loudly as thoughts of the old Di Jun, who rarely spoke let alone showed emotion created new thoughts of a very vocal and rowdy child thrust upon them all.

Zhe Yan then took Di Jun and lay him down before giving him a thorough examination.  He was of course perfect physically, yet when he turned him over, he let out a small gasp, which he quickly pulled back in, but it wasn't missed by Mo Yuan or Bai Qians mother who moved to see what had caught his attention.  At the base of his spine was a small golden dragon birthmark which was very clear in detail and colour.

None had ever seen Di Juns true dragon form in his previous life, so they assumed this was the marking of it, but Mo Yuan knew better, though he could not tell them it was in fact the Golden Dragon of his clan, which he too inspected.

Bai Qians mother then dressed him and prepared him for what lay ahead, before moving to check on her daughter.

Bai Qian, was still coming out of the birthing blues, and had yet to gain some semblance of normality, but she did look over towards her mother, before dropping her head back down, which woke up Feng Jiu, whom everyone had forgotten.

Rising quickly she rushed to the baby to look down at him.  "Di Jun?" she whispered softly to him as she took in his familiar features that she knew would eventually become the man she had once known.  Leaning forward to touch his face,  she smiled in amazed wonder, as his eyes seemed to instantly recognise her. "Mother,  Did he smile at me?," she asked, the tears beginning to trickle down her face as she continued to stare at him.

"It seems so, doesnt it?" her mother smiled at her.

Holding her hands out, Zhe Yan lifted him off the bed, and gently placed him i her arms before showing her hold him.  Rocking him in her arms, she continued to look down at him as his eyes took on more of his azure blue.  He was fully focused on her, his eyes bright and alert as he too gazed up at her.  Both of them lost in their own longing.
