Chapter 21

-LYNN'S P.O.V-

   School starts in less than 2 weeks. Jamie is almost walking on her own and it's awesome. I am happy that I get to go around in my senior year bragging about my sexy fiancee.
   I know she is stir crazy from constantly sitting here with nothing to do.
"Are you paying attention?"
"Huh?"
"You okay?"
"Thinking."
"Babe, you asked me to play... are we really going to play or not?" She questions. "I've been practicing.."
"So you think you can beat me at team death match? You think you can beat my kills vs deaths?" I smirk. "Do you really think you can do that?"
"Yeah."
"Bring it on then."
'Ha!' K: 5 to 2. D: 3 to 4
Towards end it ends up being her winning. I let her. I just wanted to see her reaction.
"Ly! Ly! I won!"
    Worth it.
"What do you want for a reward?"
"A kiss."
"That's it?"
"Yeah..."
    I lean over and press a kiss to her soft lips. The kiss doesn't part until we can't breathe.
"You're beautiful."
    Next game starts and I win. She  groans.
"What's your reward?"
"A kiss."
    Her face turns a light shade of pink when she blushes. Why...is she blushing.
"Are you blushing?"
"N..No."
"Liar."
"Y..Yes."
    She looks away.
"Why are you blushing?"
"I..I don't know."
    And she is stuttering again. I feel like I should be worried.
"Look at me."
   Silence.
"Look at me."
...
"Please?"
   She takes a deep breath and turns to look at me.
"What's happening in that beautiful mind of yours?"
"Nothing. I..It was just really cute the way you said it. And I felt myself blushing and couldn't stop it."
"I find it awesome that I can make you blush, considering who I am. You're adorable."
   A deeper red came across her face.
"Looks like someone is finally accepting my compliments too."
   She nods slowly.
"Can I get my kiss?" I smile to her as I set my controller down.
    She does her best to crawl to me before ultimately collapsing against me, making us fall into the bed. She leans down and presses a kiss to my lips.
   She speaks between each kiss.. words I will never get use to.
"I" her whisper to my lips "Love" is beyond sexy. "You"
   She deepens the kiss, I couldn't respond. I just tangle my fingers in her hair and hold the back of her neck so she is close to me. I say it a lot but nothing feels as good as this moment. Or any moment...as long as it's with her.
   Our makeout session got heated I ended up on top of her. I almost forgot what today was. Almost... until my alarm goes off.
"Nooooo"
"J.."
"It's not fair."
"You say that so often."
"Well, it's true. I just want to keep you here forever."
"When your legs are good as new, love, you can work with me."
"Ugh. But that feels ages away."
"You can walk to the bathroom already without a crutch. I know it takes time and you get sore quickly but you're doing great, my love." I smile. "I am proud of you."
   Her face brightens quickly.
   She sighs.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't want you to go"
"I know, J. It will be okay. It's just til 8."
"That's so long..."
"It will be okay."
"Please don't leave me..."
    Something was off but I couldn't put my finger to it. She is worrying me. I could hear multiple reasons behind her words.
    I got up and got ready. Her eyes never left mine, even if I wasn't looking directly at her. I walked back to her where she had scooted to the edge of the bed for me to get close.
"It will be okay. I'll be back before you know it." I see a hint of pain in her eyes, though she casts a happy look in hopes I didn't notice. But I did.
   I lean down a press a kiss to her forehead before taking her chin and lifting. I press my lips to hers and I felt her let off relief.
   I had to go.
"Go before you're late."
"Want me to pick up dinner?"
"If that's what you want."
    Now I know something is wrong.
"What would you like?"
"Suprise me."
    I nod and walk off, closing doors behind me. Once outside the front door I lean against it and sigh. There was something wrong.
  
    Once at the store May was already in my arms.
"Hey, Alex."
"Woah. You look a bit down."
"That noticeable?"
"You can't hide it from me."
    I let out a big sigh.
"What's wrong Lynnie?"
"Well.. something is wrong with Jamie. She's great. Nothing is actually sickly wrong with her. But today she said something that.. was loaded."
"Which was?"
"'Please don't leave me...' and I saw pain in her eyes which she instantly hid. She didn't want me to come in today. I can't figure out what.. But something is wrong. And it scares me."
"Don't be scared, Lynnie. I'm here for you."
"Thanks Princess."
  
    The day doesn't go by fast. But really slow even with May's help. I try to stay in a good mood for her but I am worried sick.
   What if I can't protect her from her demons anymore? What if I can't..
   I felt a little thumb wipe across my cheek.
"Why are you crying, Lynnie?"
"My eye lash fell in my eye. I think I might have done my makeup wrong." I lied but she bought it.
   
    My shift was over and I helped close shop. Once out I waited for May's hug.
"I'll see you later, Lynnie!"
"I'll see you later, Princess."
    I pressed a kiss to her cheek and she giggled. She's way too adorable for her own good.
"Night, Alex."
"It'll be okay, Lynn. It's probably nothing."
   I nod. I hope. I really do.

   Getting home was quick after getting food and I was glad. When I walked in, Jamie was asleep but a note was on my pillow. I feel... scared..
   I put the food in the fridge. Walking over to the letter seems... all kinds over warning alarms. I read it.

To the love of my life,
   I never got to do the cheesy girlfriend stuff because I had made a big mistake. In hopes this makes up for at least some of it.

    I put the note to my chest and let a few tear drop. I quickly move around the room and watch for something.. anything.. just to hang it up..
   I tape it above our bed, careful not to wake her. She looked so peaceful but had tears wet along her cheeks. If she is smiling like that.. yet crying.. I wonder what she is dreaming.
   Once changed, I climbed into bed and pulled her on top of me. She got comfortable but I know it was just an automatic reaction and that she was still asleep.
"I love you, Ly." She places a kiss to my neck.
"I thought you were asleep."
"I was, sort of still am. But I will never fail to say that to you."
   She takes in a deep breath and I hear her heart begin to slow again.
"I love you, Ly." And she falls asleep.
    Her breath warm against the skin of my neck. I pull the blankets over us and hold on to her tightly. This woman is my life.
   It doesn't take long before I am pulled into a deep sleep. But only dream for about 2 seconds...or So it seems.

   Just her standing in white. Everything else in the world has stopped and it's just us two. Her smile is bright and her eyes sink me.
"I do."

    I wake up to a kiss on my cheek. My eyes flutter open to see Jamie. My love.
    She smiles brightly. It's nothinglessthan beautiful. Stunning.
"I'm hungry."
    I laugh lightly.
"Really now?"
"Yeah.. kinda fell asleep before getting to eat."
"I brought home Chinese. I'll heat it on the hotplate... But it means you have to get up."
    Her eyes widen as she stares above my head.
"My.. note."
"Yeah."
"It was just meant for sillies."
"But you would be lying if you said it means nothing."
"I would be."
"I will never leave you. You should never have any melancholy. And if you do, talk to me. I saw the pain in your eyes yesterday... I left scared out of my mind because I knew there was something wrong. But the song holds many meanings...and now a new one to me. I will cherish your cheesy act forever."
   She laughed and hid her face in my shoulder.
"Do you trust me, Jamie?"
"Of course I do!" Her voice instant to my question.
"Then let me help you fight any demons that may come your way. Trust me to be there and never leave. I will NEVER leave you."
"I trust you."
  I press a kiss to her forehead and she sighs.
   Before I could blink she rolled off of me and on the edge of the bed. She slowly walks her way to the kitchen. Making it but leaning against the counter.
"Pain scale?"
"3. Maybe. I feel like they're jello but other than that, it feels pretty good."
"Jamie you just took like 20 steps."
    Her eyes widen.
"By yourself."
     She grows a grin quickly.
"I did.. didn't I?"
    I hop out of bed and walk towards her. I lean down and wrap my arms around her waist, hoisting her up. Her legs wrap tightly around me.
"I'm so proud of you, love."
   She giggles in my ear and it's the most sweetest of sounds.
"You should marry me."
"I'd be glad to."
