Because of you: Never Ever

Why?

My phone was ringing so much. Reyna and Ryan was blowing my phone up. I called Ryan back.

"Yo what's up Sauce?". "Get down here to the hospital. Janai passed out it's not looking to good for her right now". "I'm on my way".

I hopped up and grabbed my keys and I drove to the hospital. I rushed in the building and I looked for Ryan. I saw Janai's parents and Reyna and Ryan. I walked over to them. Reyna and Ms. Sabi look like they have been crying.  "What's going on?". No one said anything they just hugged me. "Tell me what's going on?". "Janai has suffered preeclampsia which mean she had really high blood pressure. She's currently in a coma right now and the doctors had to take the baby out earlier than expected. The baby is suffering trauma as well".

"What? How did this even happen? Where is Channing?". "He called the ambulance but he didn't come so I think he might have done this. Like this is your wife and child and you just not show up". "Reyna as long as he called and she's here right now man forget about him. We have to focus on Janai and the baby and them getting better okay". 
  
The doctor walks up to us. "Hey are you the family of Janai Michaels?". "Yes we are". "Well do you want the good news or bad news first". "We will take the good news first". "Well the baby is doing fine. Unfortunately Mrs. Michaels's vitals organs are failing she needs to be put on life support".  "Oh no my baby". Janai's mom fell to her knees as her husband consoled her in his arms. I walked away and I punched the wall. "This is some bullshit". Ryan pulled me into his chest and I just cried. Just when I thought I was gonna get her back. This shit happens.

"Well what can we do?" Sabi said to the nurse. "Well honestly I know this is hard to hear but any choices from here on out are usually made by the spouse". "What? So we have no say so? We are her parents". "By law it's the choice of the spouse". "Well he ain't here so what we gonna do" I yelled at the nurse. "If you can get in touch with the spouse and let him or her know what's going on. Have him or her come out here. There's nothing we can do from this point on". "Can I at least go see the baby?". "Yes you sure can. If you follow me to the nicu".

I followed the nurse to the nicu department for sick babies. "This is Mrs. Michaels baby". "Awe she's so precious. Can I hold her please". "Sure just be careful of the all the wires". I picked her up and I wanted to cry. Janai may never see her baby ever. To see her grow up or see her get married. This is so sad. "Does she have a name yet?". "Uh no ma'am". "I want her name to be Serenity Williams". "Serenity Williams?". "Yes I want her to have my last name just in case anything happens I will be taking care of Janai's baby girl". "Okay well I'll go fill out the parper work and I'll have you sign some papers".

I sat down in the chair with baby serenity. "Hi Serenity. I want you to know that I loved your mom very much. She was the love of my life. I will make sure that you will know everything about her. I can't wait to see how you grow up. I can't wait to see what traits you inherit from your mom. Your mom was the sweetest woman ever and extremely talented. I know your gonna be a good kid with nothing but love surrounding you". I kissed her forehead.
