Alexander sat at his desk, furiously typing up a paper that wasn't due for three weeks. Suddenly he heard a knock at his office door.

"Come in," he said tiredly.

Washington walked in and looked at Alexander.

"Son, you are over working yourself."

"Don't call me that, and no, I'm not. I'm fine."

Washington sighed and walked up to Alexander.

"Yes you are son, please let me take you home."

"Don't. Call. Me. Son. I'm fine, I'll go home once I've finished."

"Don't make me have to carry you out of the office again. You remember the last time, I dragged you out kicking and screaming. Then Jefferson recorded it and put it on YouTube."

Alexander thought back to the incident. He did indeed remember telling Jefferson to take it down. He never did. Alexander sighed and continued typing. Washington walked over and closed Alexander's laptop.

"Hey-"

Washington picked Alexander up and threw him over his shoulder.

"You are coming home."

"NOOOO! LET ME WORK!"

A muffled call was heard.

"Jemmy! Pull out your phone." The southern drawl belonging to Thomas Jefferson called out.

Washington opened the door and walked out.

"PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!!! AND PUT THAT CAMERA AWAY MADISON I WILL END YOU!!" Alexander screeched.

Jefferson doubled over in laughter. Alexander glared at him as he was carried away by Washington. Washington got to his car and placed Alexander inside, buckling his seatbelt for him and closing the door. He gets in and starts driving.

"I just wanted to work," Alexander complains.

"I know son, but you need rest."

Alexander scoffs.

"Don't call me son."

"This is an alert for New York City. A severe thunderstorm warning has been implemented, please remain indoors until the alert is over"

"Shit..." Washington mutters. He looks over at Alexander whose eyes were wide and on the verge of tears.

"Son, It's okay, It'll be over soon."

It was too late, Alexander had started having a panic attack. Washington decided it was best to pull over and calm Alexander down. Alexander started freaking out and tried to move, only to be restricted by the seatbelt. He started crying and shaking.

"shhh son, calm down, please."

Washington unbuckled Alexander's seatbelt, and Alexander instantly crawled into his lap, shaking and crying. Washington hugged him close and tried to calm him.

"Son, It's just a thunderstorm, no hurricane, no giant waves, no Caribbean. It's just a storm, and It'll be over soon."

Alexander wouldn't calm down, he felt scared. Suddenly, Washington got an idea.

He began to softly sing to Alexander.

"Come stop your crying, It will be alright. Just take my hand, hold it tight. I will protect you from all around you, I will be here don't you cry."

Alexander curled into a ball and continued to cry.

"For one so small, you seem so strong. My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm. This bond between us, can't be broken. I will be here don't you cry."

Alexander slowly began to come to his senses, and he tried to realize where he was.

" 'Cause you'll be in my heart. Yes, you'll be in my heart. From this day on, now and forever more. You'll be in my heart, no matter what they say. You'll be here in my heart...Always."

I'm safe... I'm with Washington... I'm safe I'm wi-

Lightning flashed across the sky, followed by a roar of thunder.

Hurricane.

Alexander began to freak out again, just as he was starting to calm down.

"Why can't they understand the way we feel? They just don't trust, what they can't explain. I know we're different but, deep inside us... we're not that different at all."

The storm raged on, and Alexander lay curled into a ball nestled safely in Washington's arms. He began to realize what Washington was to him. A father.

"And you'll be in my heart, yes you'll be in my heart. From this day on, now and forever more."

I am cared for. Wait... no, I'm not... Jefferson, Madison, Burr-

Washington cut off his thoughts.

"Don't listen to them, cause what do they know? We need each other, to have, to hold. They'll see in time. I know."

Alexander's breathing began to calm.

"When destiny calls you, you must be strong. I may not be with you, but you've got to hold on. They'll see in time, I know. We'll show them together."

Slowly, Washington began to rock Alexander back and forth.

"Cause, you'll be in my heart. Believe me, you'll be in my heart. I'll be there from this day on, now and forever more. You'll be in my heart, no matter what they say. You'll be in my heart, always."

Alexander had stopped crying and listened closely to Washington. He allowed himself to close his eyes.

"Always... I'll be with you. I'll be there for you always, Always and always."

Washington looked down at Alexander

"Just look over your shoulder. Just look over your shoulder. Just look over your shoulder. I'll be there......"

Alexander rested his head against Washington's chest. He quickly fell asleep.

"Always," Washington sang quietly and held Alexander close as he too, fell asleep.

Always...
