This is gonna be a long story. FYI: There will be smut!

Lafayette grew up in France, to say his life was good was an understatement. Lafayette had all the money in the world, his family was famous among the people. The Lafayette name was known by almost everyone in the country. If he wanted something, he just had to ask his parents, and within days, he would have whatever it is he asked for.

Hercules Mulligan, on the other hand, grew up in Ireland with almost no money. He had a large family. His mother, father, himself, his older twin brother and sister, and his younger brother. They barely made it by, but his family promised they would try and send Hercules to college. His life was hard growing up, even harder when he decided to come out. Yes, his parents were accepting, it made them love him more. His father had tried to get him into tailoring. Hercules enjoyed it, but still wanted a proper education. An education in America. It was the dream of the entire family to send Hercules to college. His older siblings had moved on to other jobs, and the 17-year-old Hercules had to scrape together enough money to even get a plane to America.

Lafayette came out to his parents when he was 13 as gay. They accepted him, he was their only son and they would give the world to him. He was happy that he had the love and support of his family.

Soon the time came that the two boys were 18. Lafayette's family asked him where he wanted to go, and he chose King's College. Hercules' father had managed to make enough money to send him to King's College as well. Little did the two boys know that they would meet.

When they landed in New York, they had a future ahead of them. Lafayette would finish college and return home to France, Hercules would finish and open a tailoring shop. Their plans would indeed change, however.

Lafayette arrived at the college and met his new friends John Laurens and Alexander Hamilton. He looked at the sheet of paper on the wall and found out his dorm was across the hall from theirs. He grabbed his bags and walked to the elevator with Alexander and John. They arrived at their floor and departed to their separate rooms. Lafayette walked into his dorm to find someone else there. For a moment he admired the tall frame and dark skin of the man in front of him. His eyes danced around his body, as he took in little details, from his eyes to the length of his eyelashes. From the short cut hair nestled under a beanie to the simple clothes the man wore.

"Are you just gonna stand there and stare, or are you coming in?"

Lafayette was enchanted by the thick Irish accent the man spoke with. Luckily, Lafayette had managed to learn English before he came here.

"Sorry... I-I was just..."

He had no words, the French accent trailed out of his lips and into the ears of the man in front of him.

"Nice accent. German?"

"French." Lafayette corrected.

He walked in and set his bags down on the unoccupied bed.

"So what's your name? Otherwise, I'll be calling you Frenchie."

Lafayette chuckled.

"Do you want my full name or my easy name?"

"Full name?" The man didn't understand until Lafayette spoke, his accent getting stronger with each name he listed.

"Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette."

The man stood in shock for a moment, unable to wrap his head around the name.

Lafayette chuckled again.

"Just call me Lafayette."

"I'll call you Laf, if you don't mind."

"Whatever's easy for you."
