"Remember class, these field trip forms are due tomorrow. Get them signed and hand them in to me please," Mr. Washington stated as he handed out field trip forms to the class.

Alexander sunk down in his chair, not even wanting a sheet, and cringing when one was placed on his desk. He slowly sat up and observed it, his eyes scanned the questions and finally found the line at the bottom for a parent/guardian signature. Problem was, he had neither. Poor Alexander had been on his own since he was 14, having no father, no mother, no friends, and no family left, Alexander had lived a rather depressing childhood. He was sixteen now, and this was supposed to be a big field trip that everyone was going on. His body threatened to start spilling tears at that very instant when he looked over and noticed Thomas biting his lip whilst staring at his own form. Why would Thomas be upset over it? From what Alexander knew, Thomas came from a rich family, so what was the issue? Granted, he knew barely anything about the guy, hell, he hardly even spoke to him in a friendly manner. But it was none of his business to indulge in the life of his... enemy? He was unsure what to call Thomas at this point. All he knew was that he was gonna have to explain why he wouldn't be able to go on the trip.

He sat awaiting the bell so he could talk to Washington in private. Most students stood anxiously by the door, already anticipating the final bell. When it finally did ring, they stampeded out of the classroom, leaving Alexander, Thomas, and their teacher, Washington. Tentatively, Alexander grabbed his form and shyly walked up to Washington's desk, he cleared his throat, causing Washington to look up at him. Thomas sat at his desk at the back, wiping his teary eyes as he waited in silence for Washington and Alexander to finish.

"Yes, Alexander? What might be the problem my dear boy?" Washington questioned in a more fatherly tone than necessary.

"U-Umm... I uhh... I c-can't go on the t-trip..." He mumbled while looking down.

Washington tilted his head and looked at him with concern.

"And why not Alexander? What's the matter-" Washington paused when he noticed Thomas, "Thomas? Would you mind leaving a moment? I have a serious issue to discuss, one that does not concern you."

Thomas looked down and meekly nodded. He collected his things and started to walk out. It took a moment, but the second Washington noticed Thomas' tears, he quickly stood up and walked over to the boy. Never, not in his whole career, had he seen Thomas Jefferson shed a tear. In a swift movement, Thomas wiped his eyes, but Alexander had already seen him. This is how he knew something was wrong.

"Thomas?? Are you okay?" Alexander asked with genuine concern as he rushed over to the Virginian.

Thomas shook his head and tried to leave, yet Washington held a firm grip on the crying boy's arm. He sighed upsetly and turned to face them.

"I-I-it's nothing... D-don't worry ab-bout me," he stuttered.

"Something is wrong... Both of you seemed upset when I gave you the field trip forms... Mind telling me what's going on?" Washington questioned. Alexander gave a curt nod and began his story first.

"I-I don't have anyone to sign my form..."

Thomas looked at Alexander and nodded in agreement.

"What do you mean?" Washington questioned further, still not understanding fully.

"I-I don't h-have parents Mr. Washington... been this way since I was 14..." Alexander mumbled.

"My d-dad d-died when I w-was 14, and my mom's an a-alcoholic n-now... I also h-have no o-one to sign my f-form," Thomas said, still with his stutter.

Washington was silent as he looked between the two boys. He felt extreme pit for them. Alexander was parentless, and Thomas was living in a lonely household, with a lonely life. He hasn't guessed these two had these kinds of issues... Alexander had plenty of friends and was very successful. It surprised Washington to learn this about Hamilton. Thomas had always had a stutter, so he didn't pay it much attention, and he really only had one friend, James Madison. But to hear about this truly shocked their teacher. Washington bit his lip and looked down. Thomas copying as he looked down, rubbing his arm gently, sniffling softly. Alexander looked over and reached out a hand, taking Thomas' hand firmly in his and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"I-I'm not sure how to help here... Thomas, Alexander, why hadn't you told me sooner?"

"I was scared," they responded in unison. Washington gave a sigh and held out his arms. Both boys walked forward into his embrace. Alexander had an arm tightly around Thomas' waist. It was harder now to despise a man whom you relate to. Washington was grasping at straws at this point, desperately trying to think of something, anything, that might help these poor boys. Finally, he settled on something, and knowing his wife well, Washington knew Martha would have no problem with this plan.

"Stay with me for a little while, you two can share the spare room at my house with myself and Martha," he proposed.

Thomas and Alexander looked at each other and nodded. "That would be nice Mr. Washington-"

"Call me George, at least, at home," he smiled at them.

Thomas bit his lip before asking a question. But it was so quiet and stuttered that Washington hadn't understood what he had said. Alexander chuckled and looked at Washington.

"He asked if you're accepting of gay people."

Washington chuckled, "my boy, what a silly question. Of course, I do, and yes, I know you're gay. It's hard not to notice when you two hint about it in your journal writings. I have no problem with it."

Thomas' eyes lit up happily, he beamed a happy smiled and hugged the two tighter. All three knew that this 'temporary" living situation was bound to be permanent. But he was glad he was able to think of something.

~~~time skip~~~
Washington unlocked his front door and walked in carrying the boy's bags. He looked around and excitedly called out to his wife.
"Martha dear! Come quick, you'll love my surprise!"
His wife came wandering down the stairs, she smiled when she saw the boys shyly standing behind Washington.
"Aww George! This is wonderful!" She said with giddiness in her tone. Martha was quick to embrace the teenagers and show them the spare room they'd be sharing. Washington placed their bags in the room with them and walked out.
"Make yourselves at home!"
Alexander and Thomas smiled, together, they talked and bonded, did homework, and had Martha and George sign their field trip forms. The two were happier already. Away from depressing lives, and in a loving family. Of course, they would never see each other as brothers, as they were bound to fall in love, but they had a special bond already and this was only their first day with each other. Towards the night, they crawled into bed. A soft pitter-patter of rain on the window was enough to draw Alexander to curl up close to Thomas. Thomas instinctively wrapped his arms around Alexander. They stayed like that most of the night, cuddling with each other in a safe home. This was a million times better than they expected.
A/N: There's some fluff for ya. And, to answer the question, yes, I suppose I will do a part two of the previous story. Anyways, hope you enjoyed, it was a little rushed, but it's cute nonetheless. I will be trying to publish a few stories before the 25th of March. Which leads me to my next point! From the 25th of March to the 2nd of April, I will be on a vacation, so updates might not happen at that time. Have a lovely day or night, I love you all, bye guys. -Alexander
