HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! (To my Canadian readers) Hope you have a great day with your family! Eat good food, socialize, have fun. ANYWAY, LETS GO!
Alexander Hamilton had left New York. He went back home to the Caribbean. This was five years ago, now he was finally coming home.
Nobody knew why he left. except for Alexander. He told no-one he was leaving, he just packed up his things one day and left. Everyone had their thoughts, what they figured the reason was. John Laurens was devastated. He felt it was his fault. Even Thomas and James shared some mindset that it was their fault.
Truth was, Alexander was looking for something, or rather, someone.
He never found who he was looking for, so he decided to return home.
After clearing security and getting on the plane, he found himself sitting next to someone he vaguely recognized, but he couldn't place a name.
Alexander decided to be friendly and talk to the man, to see if he could figure out how he knew him.
"So uhh... What brings you on a plane to New York?" He asked cautiously.
The man turned to him, he seemed surprised when he saw Alexander. But he chose to ignore his thoughts and respond.
"I've been feeling guilty about things... I'm trying to get away from here."
"So why New York?"
"I know someone there."
Alexander nodded. The man chose to ask him a question this time.
"What about you?"
"I live in New York. I was visiting my old home for a bit."
"Old home?"
Alexander nodded and continued, "yeah, I was born here. Left when I was nineteen."
"Why'd you leave in the first place?"
When I was six years old I broke my leg... I was running from my brother and his friends.
"It was painful to stay... My mother died when I was young. My brother was kinda mean to me after that."
And tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain grass as I rolled down.
Alexander's brother had blamed their mother's death on him. They used to be close until Alexander and his mother grew ill. Alexander was sick first and his mother caught the deadly virus from him. At least that's what his brother thought.
I was younger then, take me back to when...
He would admit that he did miss the Caribbean. It was a beautiful place that had lost It's meaning when Alex's father left, and his mother died. His brother died not too long after, in the hurricane that hit when Alex was seventeen.
I found my heart, broke it here.
He found amazing friends when he had moved. He was introduced to Aaron Burr, and afterwards, he met John Laurens, Lafayette, and Hercules Mulligan. They were really close until Burr and Alex got into fights.
Made friends and lost them through the years.
It's been so long for him. He felt guilty about leaving them. He felt guilty about ignoring their calls because he couldn't afford the phone bill. It hurt him to not talk to the people he was close to.
And I've not seen the roaring fields in so long I know I've grown. But I can't wait to go home.
Alexander was snapped back into reality as the plane took off. He had always hated heights and swimming. It was because of the hurricane.
