Okay about the song, it just reminded me so much of Alexei. The first line 'As a child you would wait, and watch from far away, but you always knew you'd be the one to work while they all played.' Reminds me of his captivity in Tsarkeyo Sell, where the guards would mess around while the Romanovs worked. And what really made me think about him is the line 'Farewell, I've gone to take my throne above' reminds me so much of his death, since he never got to become the Tsar and he took his long lost throne in heaven, if you believe in it. And the line 'Don't weep for cause this will be the labor of my love' reminds me of if he would have became Tsar, he would have died for his beloved Russia. Anyways, the story
Olive had invited all of her family from Miss Peregrine's, with permission from Nicholas of course, to the palace for dinner the next day, and planned to announce her engagement to them after supper. They were all in the Palace courtyard, while Alexei played ball with Hugh - since Millard could not make an actual appearance that night and stayed home reading, much to his disappointment- while Olive stood with Emma and Enoch close to the palace. Tatiana was speaking quietly with Miss Peregrine, since they both were so strict and proper, they got along quite well. Claire and Bronwyn were sitting on a bench playing idly with each other's hair.
Jake was tending to Felix inside the palace, giving Emma a break to talk with Olive. "The palace is quite beautiful." Emma said, nodding to the palace just feet away from her. Enoch nodded with Olive, showing their agreement. "That's true. " Enoch said, his eyebrows raised in amusement. "Almost too beautiful. How many people have died here?" He asked, and Olive slapped his arm at his dark humor, but still smiled. "I wouldn't know!" She said, shaking her head. Emma peered over at Anastasia and Maria, who were knee deep in the lake, their dresses hiked up. "They have lived here all their life, do they know of any secret passageways or doorways?" Emma asked, but Olive could tell she was joking by the tone of her voice, a tone she knew well now living with Anastasia and Nicholas.
"Actually, they were all born in Peterhof Palace, not Alexander. And if there are any secret rooms, I don't know about them." Olive said, smiling. Emma looked marginally disappointed, but soon her face was covered with a smile. "And I know this is strange, but when will Alexei become the Tsar?" Emma asked, and Olive was a bit shocked that she sounded genuinely curious about the subject. Enoch looked just as intrigued, squinting his dark eyebrows. "Yes, I was kind of wondering that too. Didn't you say it would be around his 19th birthday?" Enoch asked, and Olive was not ready to answer the question, since she wasn't even sure herself.
