Tsubaki - Tell Me A Story

You were a human that Tsubaki took a shining to. Why he liked you, you weren't sure about. He would come around unexpectedly, always asking the same thing. 'Will you tell me an interesting story, (Y/N)?", was the question he would ask you. You never knew how to answer the question, you never had anything worth sharing, especially to someone like Tsubaki. The only reason he knows you is because you had a lot of information on the Servamps, their subclasses, the eves, and C3. All you had that was interesting was information for his plans, but he never seemed to be satisfied with that answer.

"Tell me something interesting, (Y/N)." Tsubaki said as he appeared behind you.

"Well..." You started. "The Greed Pair are going to-"

"Not information," He said. "Tell me something else interesting."

You stared at him for a moment, trying to register what he just said. But then you got and an idea. You were going to tell him a little story.

"Okay," You answered. "A long time ago, there was a little girl who loved her family very much. So much that she would trade her life for their's any time. But one day, the family had fallen apart like a crumbling city. The girl's brother, was tired of the static life he was living, so he had become friends with the wrong people. The friends told him, 'If you want to be like us, you have to leave your old life behind, which means you have to get rid of your family'. The brother took note of this and made a plan."

"That night, he killed his own father in front of his mother. The mother struggled to protect the girl, but she suffered the same fate as her husband. The little girl ran away as her brother tried to find her in their house, but he couldn't find her anywhere. The girl realized something that night, life is a precious thing you must never take away from someone. The girl grew up feeling ashamed of herself for running away, so she punished herself, by always remaining utterly alone."

It was only when you finished the story did you realize that Tsubaki had been listening intently to each detail. You began to walk away but then you heard Tsubaki laugh psychotically, you stood completely still, waiting for something to happen. But nothing happened.

You turned around and looked at Tsubaki, was still laughing. But he stopped and took a breath. "That," He began. "Was not a very interesting story. How boring..." Tsubaki than continued laughing as you stared at him and sighed.

"Would it still be boring if I told you that story really happened," You added. "And that the little girl was me. Or that I wanted my brother to kill me so it would end my misery...?"

Tsubaki stopped laughing and stared at you, a confused expression drawn on his face. He had no words, he opened his mouth but no words formed.

"That's what I thought," You declared.

You turned around, but Tsubaki moved in front of you to keep you from leaving. He lifted you chin with his hand to make you look him in the eye.

"It seems I was wrong," He began. "Maybe you are more interesting than I thought."
