Lawless never thought of falling in love again after she died. His heart would never race and he'd never say "I love you" to another person. Even though it has been decades since her death, she still held his heart in her hands. But then he met you.

And My Momma swore

That she would never let herself forget

And that was the day that I promised

If it does not exist

You were Licht's best friend since childhood, it was a few weeks after he made a contract with the dark-haired pianist when he returned to Japan. Licht had lectured Lawless a few minutes before you met about not doing weird things around you, but Lawless didn't really listen.

"Don't do anything stupid when she's around, okay, rodent?" Licht grimaced to his Servamp, Lawless nodded and went back to texting on his phone. He didn't really care what he did around you, since he loves to annoy Licht. A few minutes pass and knocking is heard at the door, Licht gets up and pulls it open, a small smile on his face.

"Hey, Licht!" You chirped a greeting to your friend.

"Hello, (Y/N)." He replies as he pulls you into a hug. He lets you inside, and you noticed a boy with blonde hair sitting on the couch, you've never seen him before.

"Who's that?" You ask your friend, he clicks his tongue.

"That is no one important." Licht remarked. The blonde looked offended as he got up off the couch, he started smiling and pushed up his red-framed glasses.

"Hey there! I'm Lawless, it's nice to meet you, Little Lady!" He says while shaking your hand.

"It's nice to meet you, too, I'm (Y/N)."

You were at a party that Licht invited you to, but you eventually got lost and couldn't find him in ocean of people you tried to swim through. You looked around and spotted a familiar face, you squeezed through the crowd and tapped on his shoulder, he turned around to face you.

"Oh, hey, (Y/N)," He states calmly. "Enjoying the party?"

"It's okay, but I lost Licht." You reply, he shrugs and takes a sip of his drink.

"Licht wanders off sometimes." He answered, putting his hands in his pockets and leaning on the wall.

"I know, I should be used to it by now, he's been doing that ever since we were kids." You explain.

"Well, that's just the type of person he is, I guess."

"I worry about him sometimes, you know?" You added, leaning on the wall beside Lawless. "You can just never tell what's on his mind, it's times like this I wish I had telepathy or something." You notice Lawless staring at you, you laugh nervously as he keeps a stoic disposition.
