Author's note: This has some spoilers from the manga, and it also takes place seven years before in the manga.

You have been friends with Mikuni since childhood, you two had a lot in common. You were both the same age, so you got along better than expected. You two could always tell what each other were thinking, but you couldn't tell what he was thinking that night.

You were sitting on the couch in your home, reading a book. You were alone in the dark, only a single lamp was on, which gave the room an eerie glow. The thick blanket of silence was lifted when you heard pounding on the front door and screaming.

"(Y/N)!(Y/N)! Please open the door!" Yelled your dear friend, Mikuni. "Please, I need to talk to you!"

You scrambled off of the couch and shuffled over to the door as Mikuni continued to pound his fist on the door. You creaked open the door and your eyes widen as a tall, lengthy figure with red eyes was standing behind your friend. Mikuni took notice of your fear and glanced at the figure behind him. The figure then started to melt away and turned into a snake. The snake then slithered up Mikuni's leg and slinked around his neck like a scaly-scarf.

"It's okay," He reassured you. "He won't hurt you."

You looked at your friend up and down, his shirt was covered in blood and his eyes were frantic and terrified. "M-Mikuni!?" You stuttered. "What happened-"

"I'll explain later!" He interrupted. "May I come in?"

You nodded and stepped aside to let him in. He reluctantly stepped inside, you closed the door and gestured for him to sit. He sat on the couch and stared down at the floor, tapping his foot on the floor violently. You sat down on the couch next to him, to get his attention you touched his shoulder. He flinched away from your touch and looked up at you with terrified eyes.

"Mikuni," You addressed him. "What happened?"

"I..." He hesitated. "I... I killed... Someone."

Your (E/C) eyes went wide and your face went pale. "You... Killed someone?" you repeated.

"Yes."

"Who did you kill?"

"I killed... I killed my..." He struggled. "I killed my mother."

This didn't make sense to you, why would he kill her? You always remembered Mikuni's mother as a sweet woman who was so kind to everyone. She always would play hide and seek with you and Mikuni when you were children. She did the same with his younger brother, Misono. What had happened between them?

"Why did you kill her?" You asked him.

He broke down and told you everything. He told you about his father's affair and that Misono's birth mother was killed by his mother out of jealousy. He told you she felt so much guilt that she took in Misono as her own son, but she was driven crazy and tried to murder him. But, Mikuni killed her with the help of the servamp of envy, Doubt Doubt, to save his brother.

Mikuni broke down crying like a child after he explained it all. You embraced him, patting on the back as he was crying uncontrollably. "It's not your fault." You whispered.

Mikuni stopped crying and looked up at you. "What?" He asked you.

"It's not your fault," You repeated, "You were trying to protect Misono."

"But, I killed-" He started.

"You knew she was doing something wrong," You comforted him. "So you had the right to-"

Your phone started ringing loudly, you picked it up off the table and answered.

"Hello?" You said.

"(Y/N)!" Shouted a voice. "It's me, Mikado Alicein, Mikuni's father."

"Mr. Alicein? What's wrong?"

At the mention of his father's name, Mikuni lifted his and looked at you. His eyes were frantic once again, as if he was telling you not to tell him he was with you.

"It's Mikuni, he's missing!" He shouted, sounding worried. "Is he with you?"

You glanced over at Mikuni and took a deep breath. "No, He's not here." You lied.

"Oh..." Mikado sounded disappointed. "If you see him, please tell him I asked to see him."

"Oh, okay... Good Night, Mr. Alicein." You chirped politely.

"Good Night."

You hung up the phone, putting it back down on the table and sat down next to Mikuni.

"I'm... A horrible person." Mikuni said.

You grabbed his shoulders and made him look you in the eye. "No, you're not," You told him. "You just wanted to protect your brother, and you believe you've made the wrong decision... But it's already been done, at least you did something to try to help."

You cupped his face with your hands, his brown eyes meeting your (E/C) ones. You kissed his forehead and rubbed his hair lightly. He stared at you in disbelief, his cheeks dusted pink with embarrassment.

"You are not a horrible person, Mikuni," You said. "You are a wonderful person."

In my opinion, it really got bad

at the end.
