"Oh, (Y/N)!" A zealous voice chirped.

Oh no... You thought as you were putting books away in the desolate, dusty library. You knew Mikuni since high school, and one of his favorite hobbies is to be annoying. He liked yelling in libraries, for one, which was one of your pet peeves. He may be a goofball who likes to be irritating, but you still liked him, none the less.

"Shhh..." You put a finger to you lips to signal to him to be quiet.

"What? There's no one here to disturb!" He tells you, your eyebrow twitches as you put away the last book.

"Hear that?" You inquired, putting your hand to your ear.

"Hear wha-" He began.

"Shhh..." You interrupted.

"What-"

"Shhh..." You paused in silence, waiting to see if he was going to talk again. "Hear that? That's the sound of you finally being quiet, good job." Mikuni put his hand over his heart and fained an offended look on his face. You rolled your eyes as you went to grab some books to read for the week, you skimmed through title after title to try and find an interesting book. You wanted to reach a book on a high shelf, but... You couldn't reach it.

"Need some help there, Doll?" Mikuni asks as you struggle to grab the spine of the book.

"Yes..." You told him, defeated. He stood on his toes and clutched the spine, he handed it to you.

"Thank you," You thanked, he grins and tips his hat.

"You're very welcome, m'lady." He says, dramatically. "Hey, (Y/N), I'm curious..."

"About what?"

"Why do you work at this library?" He questions. "You seem to be the only one that works at this secret little place."

"It's my family's library," You informed him. "So, I hold it dear to my heart."

"I see," He thinks out loud. "Doesn't it get lonely?"

"No, not really, you're always around to be annoying and throw paper airplanes at me." You teased, he once again faked being offended.

"That was one time!" He exclaimed, which was a lie.

"Shhh..." You whispered. "This is a library."

"Enough of the 'shhh', already!" He demanded, you snickered at his remarks, he started laughing with you. Man, this takes you back to high school.

You were the silent girl with her nose in a book, while Mikuni was the one always throwing paper airplanes at you in class when the teacher wasn't looking. You always just tossed them out, but there would always be another one gliding straight into your head. You thought he was just being rude or trying to irritate you. But, that wasn't the case.

One day, you were at the school library when a certain blonde walked in, he sat two tables away from you. He didn't seem to notice you until a few minutes later, he rips out a peice of paper and starts scribbling on it. He started folding it into a plane.

Here we go again... You thought as you tried to ignore him, proceeding to write down notes from your textbook silently. The paper airplane lands right on your textbook, you groan. You picked up the plane, planning to chuck it right back at the little nuisance, but you read the words 'OPEN ME' in big, scratchy letters. You glance back at Mikuni, raising an eyebrow.

Open it. He mouths, you unfold the little plane to find the words 'Can we be friends?' Scribbled on it. You look back up at Mikuni, and back at the note, you thought about it for a moment. You write down your response, crumble up the paper into a ball(You didn't know how to make the planes), and threw it back at him. It hit him right in the forehead, you try to hold back a snicker as you get up and leave the library.

He remembers reading your response as 'maybe'.

It was because of his silly paper airplanes...

That you became friends.

You spend the rest of the afternoon reading books at a table in the library, Mikuni was picking out a book and sat down at the table diagonal from where you were sitting. You kept reading word after word of the novel, not paying attention to what your friend was doing. He took out a small notebook from a satchel he had, he ripped out a page and wrote something on it. He quickly folded it into a small plane, and aimed it in your direction. It glided onto your novel, you throw him an exasperated glare then looked down to read 'Open me' in red ink on it's paper wing.

His handwriting is still awful, you thought as you open the plane to be shocked by what was written on it: 'I'm smitten with you. I was wondering if you felt the same about me." Your face turns red like a ripe apple, he just grins at you. You stare at the blonde for one minute straight.

"Toss me the pen," you request, he obligues. You write down your response, folded it back into a plane and threw it at him. It falls onto his hat, he removes the plane and reads your neat (but tiny) handwriting, he smiles in a warm, sincere way.

'Of course I do, paper airplane boy.' was printed on the white paper. Mikuni never thought seven simple words would make his heart do twenty backflips in one second. You get out of your seat and make your way across the room to him, you planted a kiss on his cheek.

"I love you," You whisper to him. "I always have."
