I found out about a week ago that my boyfriend of a year, Hayes, had cheated on me at a party. I was quick to call things to an end but in all honesty, Im glad that I did. I know from my past experiences that I don't trust the guys who are like that.

my basketball practice had just ended when people started to leave the gym at the local rec centre we were practicing in, when out of the corner of my eye I noticed the back door open. Hayes walked in, with a poster all rolled up. the girl he was with at the party walked in behind him, carrying a whole set of balloons and confetti. The first thing I was able to do was shake my head, and look back down at my things, packing them up to leave. 

"anna...." Hayes started, my anger turning into sadness quickly, tears came down my face, but I didn't realize that I was crying. "Anna, look at me, I know you thought I cheated on you but," he choked, "I didn't, Skye was helping me set a proposal for homecoming up for you. I'm, I'm sorry if it seemed like it did nut I promise I didn't want to hurt you. that was never my intention. I love you...." he paused. he had never said those three words to me before.

I turned around, wiping the tears from my face. "so, so you never meant to hurt me?" I asked, digging my nails into the palms of my hands. "no, he said, unravelling the poster with the proposal on it, as Skye threw the confetti and out down the balloons and walked out.

I was never so happy, or relieved to be able to kiss someone in my life.
