*Your POV*
Today was yours and Hayes's one-year anniversary, but, he wouldn't be here. Hayes was finishing his last tour of the year, which left you alone on your anniversary. Of course.
You weren't mad at him, you just wished that he was here, especially tonight.
You slumped down on your couch, and turned on the TV, only to watch absolutely nothing.
Pacing around, wondering what to do, you decided to text Hayes,
"Hey"
An hour passed and no reply was even texted in the little 'typing' bubble, you felt the emptiness creep up a little more into your chest as you thought he was ignoring you on your anniversary, any day, but today was the day he ignored you.
You grabbed a soda and slumped back down to the couch and grabbed your book.
As you began dozing off you heard the lock click open, and someone walk through the door, as the almost tripped of the coat that fell off the hanger earlier, that you felt didn't need to picked up until tomorrow. The person cursed to themselves as the regained their balance, and continued onto the living room.
"Hey babe," the person said, planting a soft kiss on your forehead, and taking the book off your chest as you were barely keeping your eyes open.
Mumbling something inaudible to him, you felt yourself being picked up, and carried up the stairs until your body hit the bed softly, and another body tipped the bed and pulled you close.
"Happy anniversary, babe" he said, planting a kiss softly on your head, and pulled you closer, drifting off to a restful sleep with the guy you loved.
Maybe tonight wasn't so bad.
