Beauty Is Found Within | Peter Parker (TH)

this wasn't requested but i feel like it should just be a thing. i have seen so many peter parker x readers where he suddenly finds the reader attractive and falls in love with her after she stops wearing and/or gets her braces off. it is pretty sad that so many girls still think that having these things keeps you from being beautiful because they don't!

i got glasses when i was 11 years old and braces when i was 13. the day i got my glasses was the day people (boys especially) started to really voice how ugly they thought i was. it hurt obviously but i brushed it off and knew that we were too young to really define "pretty" anyway. but the older i got, the more i realized that they were never going to change. they were always going to think i was ugly just because i had glasses and didn't want contacts like everyone else.

the truth is that you shouldn't feel less than beautiful because of what you have to wear or how you look at all. i wish i had known that when i was in high school because i let myself be told by my friends and even my first boyfriend that i would be prettier without glasses, and i believed them. i didn't go to any school dances because i wholeheartedly believed i was not pretty enough to. no boy ever asked me and none of my friends ever asked me to come just to be there with them. i was stuck believing i wasn't good enough for all of this stuff when i was really just being put down by people that should have cared about me (luckily online school saved my life and i was able to meet a ton of new friends that didn't base my self worth on looks!! bless them)

so if someone loves you, they will think you are beautiful no matter what!!!

the point is that i hate hate hate hate hate the "takes glasses off and is suddenly pretty" trope and i hate hate hate hate the "if you don't do this and this as a teen, you're missing out" trope and wish they would die. so here's an imagine that ignores those completely

do you ever just listen to the beauty and the beast soundtrack and cry? because i do it every day. ugh. anyway, more disney references but can you blame me when i'm pumped for walt disney world and also just really love disney? i was raised this way
