*LEXI'S POV*
Driving away from my past felt reliving because I was finally getting out of there, but I was also feeling kind of down. Leaving my best friend Steph behind in London was difficult. We'd been together since we were kids and I really didn't want to move away from her, but I finally had the opportunity to start over in life so I wasn't going to just ignore that. What was better than a new city, a new school, a new house and even a new name?
My full name is Alexis Jones. I don't have a middle name, it was because my mum couldn't be bothered to spend that much time thinking up another name for me. She'd always say something like 'one name is enough' so I never pushed it. I had natural blonde wavy hair -which was straightened, like most days. My eyes are green, not the bright emerald green but a kind of green that looks washed out and dull. I used to live in London but I was moving to Brighton because my mum got sick of the place where we used to live. I hated how it was still in England. I'd always wanted to move to somewhere in America, not a majorly overrated place but a small town maybe.
Sometimes my dad used to call me Lexi, so I'd decided that was going to be my new name. Lexi Jones. My mum had always hated the name Lexi, but I didn't care, I decided that she wouldn't be in my life for much longer, as soon as I turned eighteen I'd move out and wouldn't have to listen to her anymore. I plugged my headphones in and started to listen to 'fairly local' by twenty one pilots. I slowly started to drift off to sleep as the music took over my thoughts.

I was woken by a jabbing pain in my forehead. "Ow," I squealed, as I opened my eyes and squinted as I was forced to adjust to my new surroundings. Something landed on my lap which then scratched my leg, causing me to look down. A CD case with a cracked edge. So that must have been what I had thrown at me. Great. Child abuse much.
"Get your ass out of the car Alexis, we're here," My mum shouted.
"Jeez, give me a minute I've only just woken up," I yawned, stretching my arms to make it even more dramatic. A sigh escaped my mums lips as she shaked her head. I laughed a little as she started to make her way towards our new house. I loved pissing her off, well she deserved it to be honest.

When 2pm came around, I'd finally finished unpacking all my stuff. I didn't bother to decorate my room in any way because I just wanted to explore the new city. My walls were a washed out cream colour which I needed to paint over urgently. I'd already gotten carpet fitted before we moved in so it was just the walls that needed redoing.
I headed downstairs to see my mum kissing her boyfriend. It was quite disgusting actually. His left hand was touching her lower back, whilst his right was stroking her hair. They were having a full on make out session. Ew! They may have thought they looked sexy, but...NO, it was just fucking disgusting. Just Ew!
I broke up the kiss by coughing extremely loud, but then I started to choke. Have you ever coughed to deep that it hurt slightly? Yeah, well that happened. When they finally noticed me they untangled from each other. They were both flustered and excused themselves upstairs straight away. Already christening the new house?
I didn't want to be there so I started to walk into town. However, I realised that I didn't exactly know which way it is so I got up google maps.
When I arrived in town fifteen minutes later I went straight to Starbucks. I ordered my usual drink: a caramel iced frappe with an extra shot of coffee. It was actually cheaper in Brighton than in London which was quite surprising. I took my drink and wandered through town since I didn't want to go back home straight away. Wow, I guess I had to get used to calling that place home.
