*GRACIE'S POV*
The second day went by pretty fast, I had Maths, History and English Literature with Lexi. I know I'd only known her 48 hours but it felt like I'd known her forever, like we were childhood friends years ago, our connection was instant.I knew nothing about Lexi but that just intrigued me more, she wasn't anything like any of my friends and if I'm honest it made me feel special, like it was an honour to be friends with her, but I never would have told her that.
It was lunch and we were trying to find Hanna and Charlie, assuming that they were both already at the bench. Lexi and I had came out of class late because the teacher wanted to talk to Lexi about her old school.
"Charlie and Joey are here," I yelled to Lexi when I saw that they were sat on the bench with their backs to us.
I started to rush over, "Wait Gracie, look!" Lexi exclaimed. I stopped suddenly, they were hand in hand sat at our usual lunch spot. My frown of confusion quickly turned into a smile when I realised what Lexi was talking about. I couldn't take my eyes off of the two boys kissing.
"um...fuck, shall we just..." Lexi mumbled.
"Uh yeah let's go," I agreed, smiling at my best friend. I was so happy that he finally found someone.
My phone pinged as we were walking towards the canteen. "It's Hanna, she can't meet us at lunch, she's got a detention," I said, reading the text to Lexi and typing out a reply.
"Looks like it's just the two of us?" Lexi mentioned, more of a question.
"Yeah," I couldn't say anything else because I was interrupted by the two bitches. Riley and Layla.
"What do you want?" I declared.
They completely ignored me; standing in front of Lexi, smiling at her alone, like I'm invisible.
"Hey Lexi, new girl right?" Riley obviously knew who she was, she's in like every one of our classes, also she's a new so she's probably top on everyone's conversation.
Lexi glanced at me and then replied, "Yeah, that's me,"
"We were wondering if you wanted to come to a party," Layla explained.
"I'm not sure if I can," Lexi answered way too quickly, which surprised me.
"Of course you can, it's this Friday, see you then," Riley smiled and strutted away with so much confidence, Layla followed quickly behind her.
"Wow, a party invitation on your third day, Huh?" I mentioned, slightly impressed.
"Yeah.. I'm probably not going to go though," Lexi sighed and started walking again.
"Why not?" I asked when I caught up with her, "You should totally go, you got asked to go to a party by the most popular person in the school, I guess they like you,"
"That kind of stuff doesn't bother me," Lexi said simply, shrugging off the conversation.
"You should go just to see how it is, I've never been to a high school party," I never get invited to parties, the only actual one I've been to was Caleb's. I don't count it though, it was at my house.
"Well...only if you come too?" Lexi requested.
"What, why? I wasn't invited," I commented sighing.
"Aw who cares?" Lexi shrugged.
"Uh me, I'm not going to crash a party," I exclaimed.
