The young brunette sat perched over her bed with her hands tightly clasped together, in a form of prayer. She held her head low as she mumbled prayers. Silent prayers to God. The words flowed out of her as if she were breathing them. Praying was like second nature to her as it was something that she was brought up to do since she was a young child.

"Saying words alone will not save you.... Prayer doesn't save..." She mumbled.

Yielding the spirits did not come without a price. Mia had devoted her life to God and in return she was able to inherit her family's power. It was tradition. Being able to communicate with spirits was only possible through prayer. It was a very troubling concept to grasp.

"...for too long I've kept you out of my life... I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking... and direct my thoughts"

Little did Mia know, only a few rooms away Mamoru Hano stood before a table. The room was a prayer room, much like the one they had at the Hano residence but much smaller and less decorated. The table contained four individual objects. A lit candle, some burning essence, a cross and the famous icon or Mary holding baby Jesus. All of these objects rested on the table as Mamoru looked over each one. He too was praying. He prayed for both forgiveness and for the help of God.

"...If I can be forgiven, so can he. I understand there are no levels to your love. We are all your children, and your desire is that none of us should perish... let the peace that comes from Christ rule in our hearts... Amen."

Both siblings prayed. One for guidance and the other one for forgiveness.

The two children sat together on the floor in front of a fireplace, each with a large beige cover laying over their shoulders. They sipped on their large mugs filled with hot coco and watched the flames flicker as the embers rose into the air until then disappeared from their view up into the chimney.

"Why can't we have sleepovers everyday?" the younger female asked sadly as she looked over to her friend.

The young boy sighed, still observing the flames, "Mother and Father want me to work hard... I already told you." he said as his gaze flickered over to her. He too wanted to be able to spend more time with his only friend but it was not possible, no matter how much he wanted it.

The young girl set her mug down onto the floor and shuffled closer to the boy. It was a cold winter night and the young children had been playing out in the snow for hours. That's how things normally went when they got together; they played for hours and then usually had sleepovers but lately they haven't been able to hang out as much as they used to.

"Let's go to bed, Illumi" the girl yawned as she leaned her head on the boy's shoulder.

The two got up, hand in hand, with their mugs of coco, and left the room. They shuffled their way to Illumi's large room that was surprisingly near the entrance of the house. The girl never understood why his room was situated there; where as the rest of the family's rooms remained deep into the manor where they weren't easily accessible.
