3rd Person
IIllumi lay awake at night, waiting for Mia to fall asleep in his arms. He gazed down at her as he absentmindedly ran his hand through her wavy locks. He was engrossed by the fact of what he had to do.
Slowly, Illumi slipped out of bed, without waking his beloved. He gently placed the rumpled duvet over Mia's shoulders and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. As he gazed down at her, he brushed the tips of his fingers against her warm cheek. He did not want to leave her and the fact that he had to saddened him to a great extent. He had to leave. He had to make sure she lived.
Illumi slowly stood and turned around, walking towards the door of the bedroom. Before he reached the door he swiftly turned around and faced a sleeping Mia once more. He couldn't bear to leave her. The feeling that he was left with was alien to him. He never felt this way about anyone before, not even his family.
Illumi's attention drifted from the sleeping woman to the small desk at the other corner of the room. An idea bloomed and he quickly made his way to the desk.

"Illumi" Mamoru pointed his attention to the male who stood at the kitchen table upon his entry, "We need to talk, now". As the women in the room scampered out and gave them isolation to speak, Mamoru approached the table, not bothering to sit. He seemed to be in a state of panic. As if there was something urgent he had to say but didn't have enough time to say it. Illumi didn't question the male and instead remained tranquil and serene. He sat back down in his seat and watched the male who appeared to be trying to find his words.
"I know how to save Mia" was the first thing he said. At this Illumi raised an eyebrow. Despite his lack of knowledge, he remained patient as the man before him took his time to speak.
"My father told me that in order for Mia's life force to be restored, Takeo Akagi has to die. As long as Mia is still alive, her lifeforce is still existent. If we kill Mamoru before Mia dies then the power he harnesses will be released along with her life force." Mamoru said carefully, "I asked him how much longer Mia had left..." he went on.
Illumi frowned, "And?" he pressed as his patience was slowly starting to shed away.
"A day or two," Mamoru replied, refusing to make eye contact. At this Illumi tilted his head to the side, was Mamoru uncomfortable? Illumi's patience had completely been replaced by a sense of confusion and agitation.
"Are you certain?" Illumi pressed. Somehow he wasn't sure about Mamoru's words.
Mamoru frowned, "Why would I be lying?!" he scolded fiercely.
Illumi stood back up from his seat, letting it scrape against the floor. He fixated his attention on the male as he stalked across the room towards the older male. Despite their age difference, Illumi towered over to Mamoru who stood three inches shorter than him. Mamoru's eyes widened as he noticed Illumi's hostility towards him.
"W-Wha-!!"
Illumi stood only inches away from the male. His expression remained impassive whereas his nen seemed to branch out of his like a virus. He was angry and Mamoru knew it.
"I could kill you right now" Illumi threatened. His nen wrapped itself around Mamoru's head and began to drive him crazy. "I dislike you very much," he said absentmindedly.
"What's wrong with you?!" Mamoru suddenly lashed out and shoved Illumi away from him. "Who do you think you are? Threatening me in my own house" he spit out. Their dislike for each other was mutual.
Illumi narrowed his eyes towards the male in front of him. He was completely expressionless. His nen seemed to roll off of him with great power. It was the only indicator as to how Illumi was feeling at the moment. All Mamoru was able to feel from the nen was pure hatred.
In a split second, Illumi had his hand around Mamoru's throat and had him pushed up against the wall. His feet dangled inches above the ground. "I should have killed you years ago," Illumi mused.
"Get the fuck off of me" Mamoru snarled, struggling against his choking grip. Illumi tightened his hold on Mamoru's neck and held him against the wall for a little longer, as if to prove his point, before letting him drop to the floor.
"I'll be leaving tonight," Illumi turned around and began making his way towards the door, "If you even touch Mia, I will kill you"
~~
Illumi placed a small folded piece of paper on the bedside table beside Mia. He looked down at his best friend and love.
"Wait for me" he whispered quietly, watching her for a little longer. Before Illumi could change his mind about leaving he turned around and left the room. He had to kill Takeo but he feared that this would be the last time he would get to see Mia. The fear consumed him but he had to go on with the plan... had to be done. He had to save her.
As Illumi exited from the front door of the household he was greeted with the sight of a green forest. He recalled how they had to walk for miles through the dense forest in order to arrive at this small house. It was very secluded and unnoticeable. No wonder no one on the island knew what they were talking about when they were trying to find Mamoru. Illumi pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
RIIINNGGGG
"Hello?" they picked up almost immediately, despite the early hour.
"Mother," Illumi sighed, "I need your help. It's urgent."

When Mia awoke she knew that something was off. The lack of Illumi's presence was the first thing she noticed. As she sat up in bed she glanced around her and noticed that he was nowhere to be seen. She didn't even have to check the bathroom to know that he wasn't there either. Chaos consumed her being and suddenly she knew something was really wrong. Slowly, her eyes drifted to a small piece of paper that laid on the bedside table next to the bed she lay on and her hand almost immediately shot out to grab it. It was from Illumi, she just knew it. As she unfolded the small note and read it over, her body froze.
Don't look for me. I have gone to find Takeo. Stay away from Mamoru. Stay safe and well. I will be back soon.
-Illumi
The note was extremely rushed and straightforward. Illumi's usual neat writing seemed to be scribbled. Everything about that note changed the air around her and made her wonder what he meant. Why was he warning her about Mamoru? Her own brother. Was it because of their fight last night? She was not certain.
Mia gradually stood up from her bed and reeled her way to the bedroom door. She thrust the door open and floundered outside. Her eyes darted down the dark hallway and settled on a man who leaned against the wall. A tall man with messy brown hair. Her brother.
Mamoru waited for Mia in the poorly illuminated hallway. He wore a subtle smirk on his face as he registered the young woman entering his line of sight.
"It's about time, you woke up."
