Third Person

Illumi was running late. He was given a very small amount of time in which where he was supposed to cross the world and then come back. He was in the airship with only two hours left until landing and the best word to describe his mental state was panic. The normally calm-looking and stoic persona was completely gone. Illumi sat in the driver's seat on the airship all while tapping his foot nervously on the ground and holding the controls with a death grip.

He had been in the airship for almost seven hours and he was able to hold back from calling Mia. His father called him though within the first two hours of the flight to tell him that he called Mr. Hano and they discussed the marriage between Illumi and Mia. It was official that the two would be engaged the moment Illumi got rid of Takeo. So now the pressure was on him and he had to kill the Akagi's son.

Illumi reached for his phone that rested in the pocket of his green pants. He could no longer resist calling Mia. He had to make sure that she was alright. Leaving her with Mamoru was a grave mistake that really hit Illumi after learning about Mamoru's hatred for his own sister. The logical thing to do was to bring with him, even if he had to carry her. Despite the thought though Illumi reminded himself that Mia's health was at stake and that when he made the decision to leave her with Mamoru he had her best interests in him.

The phone began to ring and Illumi waited for Mia to answer.

The spirits began to slow their running until they came to an abrupt stop. The two looked at each other in panic. Their energy was diminishing and that was because their own master's energy was slipping.

Mia's spirits all worked beneath her. This meant only one thing. They all fed on her energy and nen to remain stable. Whenever Mia sent the spirits off, her energy was able to restore itself. It was kind of like the law of nature; whatever you take you have to give back. If she took the spirits and used them, she had to sacrifice a part of her. Once she sent them back to heaven her energy returned to her body.

The two guardian spirits began to panic because if their physical forms were beginning to unstabilize it meant that the energy being used to keep them on earth was weakening. Their master, Mia, even in her current unconscious state, was completely running out of nen. Not only that but her frail body was only able to give so little. It was like

The spirits had to bring her to safety. The biggest threat right now was them. Their being on earth was going to kill Mia and so they had to save her from themselves. They carefully set her body down on the forest grass, along with her belongings, and vanished. The only thing they could do now was to watch over her from the heavens above.

Just as they left Mia's phone began to ring from beside her. No one was there to answer.

Thankfully, the spirits were able to bring Mia a great distance away from the two dangers that now resided inside the house that they once were in. That house that was once viewed as a safe haven. That house that had been hidden so well that no one knew of its existence. It's peace vanished within a day.

It was the third time that Mia was here. Suspended in the middle of complete darkness. In a state between life and death. The first time this happened to her, she was unable to comprehend much but now she finally understood. Each time that she appeared in this place, she was about to die.

She wondered how many more times she would see this type of darkness. How many more times until she died?

It wasn't only that though, there was just something different about this time around. It was like she was so much more aware of everything that was going on around her. Other times she felt drowsy and not all there. Everything was a blur to her but now everything seemed to be crystal clear. Did this mean something?

"Of course it does"  a voice called out softly.

Yes, that voice; Mia remembered it well. That voice always spoke to her when she was in these trance things. That voice always guided her when she didn't know what to do.

"Am I dead?" Mia quietly asked. That was yet another thing that she was once unable to do in this state but know was able to.

The voice chuckled softly. It was a very feminine laugh that seemed to come from every direction. Just as always, Mia was unable to identify where the sound was coming from.

"It all depends on you, my love," the voice said gently. You could almost hear a smile in her voice. There was just something about her voice that brought nothing but comfort to Mia. It was scary in the sense that she did not know who was talking to her all this time but this voice influenced her emotions. It was confusing but Mia did not think much of it. "If you choose to live then you must know that you are in danger," they advised.

"I know that," Mia chuckled, last time she was awake she was not only being hunted by her crazy fiancé but also attacked by her own brother.

"Is that so?" the voice sighed. It was as if they could read her mind.

"C-Can you hear my thoughts?" Mia suddenly realized. The angelic laughter returned and Mia's panic quickly left her.

"My love, you must decide quickly. If you would like to live then you must wake now, it is urgent." the voice quickly urged her to make a decision.

"W-Will I get to talk with you again?" Mia quickly asked. She felt a sudden overwhelming sadness pass over her. Sadness that she had to leave this voice... this person. Slowly the darkness that filled every inch of her vision began to subside. Mia knew what this meant; she was waking now. Her subconscious had made the decision for her. In the back of her mind, voices could be heard yelling. Voice from the outside. She did not recognize them but she knew that it wouldn't take long until she did as she was slowly coming back to her senses.

"Pe-" the voice was no longer audible to her ears, instead it came out fuzzy and unclear. She didn't hear what the voice's answer was.

Slowly the darkness shimmered in her vision before blinding her with a sudden light that came from every direction. Just like that, she was no longer floating in the middle of nowhere. No, she was now laying on uneven earth that smelt strongly of wet grass. The white light began to change until a figure could be seen in her vision. It was standing right above her with their hands held over their head. Mia squinted her eyes in order to aid her blurred vision. Were they holding something? Mia's eyes widened and with every ounce of newfound energy she rolled over in the grass and sprung to her feet. The figure who was holding a sharp 6-inch kitchen knife plunged their hands downward, just barely missing her head.

The sudden burst of energy and movement went straight to Mia's head causing her dizziness. She swayed on her feet, "M-Mamoru?" she called out, guessing who was standing in front of her. If it was Takeo, he wouldn't have used a knife to kill her, and the only other person that wanted to kill her that was out there was her brother.

Mia brought a hand up to her head and crumbled to the ground onto her knees, "I... I think I just spoke to mom." she mumbled.
