New York: 2012
Serenity sighed softly looking out the window of her kitchen as rain fell loudly and thunder shaking her apartment. "Hey what are you looking at out there?" A deep voice said behind her before strong arms wrapped around her. "The rain is relaxing to me Grayson." Serenity whispered before dumping her coffee down the drain and hugging onto Grayson. "I have to get to work I'll be working late so here a hundred for dinner and whatever else you need," said Grayson before Serenity could protest, then he was gone. Serenity sighed turning back to the window staring at her reflection in the foggy damp glass. Her eyes were a light blue and her hair was raven and it touched to her waist. Serenity turned away grabbing her keys and coat before leaving the apartment. The rain pelted on her skin as she left the building pulling her hood up before walking the busy streets of New York.
Her steps were slow and steady, she had no care in the world only enjoying the cold rain that slowly fell on her, her long hair stuck to her cheeks distracting her from the car heading her way. "Look out!" someone screamed as the cab screeched its tires in the wet pavement. Serenity went to run out of the way but it was too late, the cab hit her sending her falling to the ground. Her head hit hard on the concrete knocking her teeth together and the taste of blood filled her mouth. "Someone call the ambulance!" A voice echoed around her, Serenity was gasping her body screaming at her every time she tried to move. The world blurred around her as people rushed towards her, the cab driver was yelling, calling for help. But the last thing she saw before she blacked out was a man walking towards her until finally the world faded away from her.
Commotion started around them making the men stop in their tracks. "What the hell is going on?" Xavier turned and looked at his oldest friend Isiah as he came out of the coffee shop holding a steaming cup of coffee. "Probably some animal." Carson said walking ahead of them to go to their office building. Xavier began to follow but stopped when people shouted for help and a small woman slammed onto the ground. "Shit." Eli said pushing through the crowded people with Xavier, Carson and Isiah following swiftly behind. "Everyone move." Carson demanded making people quickly move out of their way. A pool of blood slowly spilled around the woman making her hair stick to her busted head. "Call the ambulance Eli, Carson move everyone away and Isiah go back to the office and make sure Mason and Ian have everything settled and under control." Xavier said kneeling beside the woman checking her pulse to make sure she is alive. "Hang in there you're going to be fine." Xavier said to the woman who was barley breathing. "The ambulance is thirty minutes away, she's not going to make it if we wait." Eli said bending down next to Xavier. "Shit." Xavier said. Eli looked over the girl before standing up. "I'll get the car. We have to get her to the hospital."
Xavier nodded slowly lifting the girl up her head tilting to the side as she lay limply in his arms her breathing slowing down faster as he ran to the car as Eli pulled up. Xavier climbed in the back holding her to his chest talking to her lowly, telling her to make it through this. As they arrived to the hospital Xavier rushed her inside hoping for some reason that the girl lived.
