Oblivion

Chapter 14

     Serenity looked at Xavier her eyes searching his but his face was blank as he stood up before turning and leaving Serenity alone on the steps. Serenity sighed and stood walking up the stairs where she stopped along a long winding hallway with over twelve doors through the whole house. She walked to the first door and opened it to a large bathroom. There was a sauna like shower with four shower heads on each side, a large mirror covered an entire wall showing Serenity how bad she looked making her cringe to herself. Her clothes were ripped and covered in grit and blood. She looked like she just came out of a zombie movie. She scoffed to herself, being in a zombie would be better than what she was living with right now. She was with a man who she didn't know running from a man who wanted nothing more than to end her life. Serenity sighed softly to herself as she turned on the sower watching as water ran from different shower heads at every corner of the bathroom. As she slowly peeled off the gross clothes she saw random symbols spread over her body. The patterns were red and each symbol that appeared caused fire to go through her veins, she fell to the floor sweat dotting her forehead as she gasped for air. Her back arched her bones cracking with the force of the pain that radiated through her body. She screamed as literal flames surrounded her. What was happening to her? She wanted to scream the question over and over again but the words were lodged in her throat weighing down on her like a brick. It wasn't until she felt cold water cover her now naked body that she realized Xavier had entered the room. "What's happening to me?" she panted slowly closing her eyes trying to get her breathing to a normal speed and to pretend that she wasn't naked on a hot strangers bathroom floor.

      Xavier sighed as Serenity passed out her body going back to its natural skin tone and her bones lining up in the right places. He turned the water off covering her with a towel before lifting her up and walking her to a spare room and laying her down on the four poster bed, looking down at her as her features scrunched up in her sleep as if she were trying to solve the worlds problems. He sighed softly running his hand over her hair before leaving the room and walked through the large house before returning to his office where he saw Mason standing flipping through a book. The mans red hair was like a beacon and his tall frame was taking up the entire room, "What are you doing here?" Xavier demanded. Mason snorted turning white eyes to him. "Nice to see you too old friend." Xavier rolled his eyes walking over to the bar and poured himself some bourbon, he sipped the amber liquid letting the burn draw his attention away from his unwanted guest. "Just wanted to tell you that Draco has men looking for you all over the world. You can hide all you want but you know the bastard will find you." Mason said closing the book before handing it to him. "I had Zena put a protective shield over the house. It'll buy you some time but you have to get her powers under control. The others can protect themselves but she. She's a sitting duck and Draco has a bounty for her." Xavier cursed slamming the glass down the shards exploding into his palm. "My thoughts exactly. I'll continue gathering as much information as I can but I can't promise you will like what I find." Mason said tossing him a towel. "Thank you, I owe you one." Mason scoffed patting Xavier's back, "You owe me more than one my friend." With that Mason was gone as if he never been but his last statement stuck with him, Draco has a bounty over their head. Serenity not only had one immortal chasing after her but the entire immortal realm was coming. "Fuck."
