Oblivion

Chapter 29

   Serenity pulled at her shirt as Xavier rushed her through the ruble of Cuba, cars were going off in all directions dead bodies of those who didn't make it were scattered at every single angle making Serenity want to vomit. "Don't look at them Serenity." Xavier said grabbing her closer to him so her body was being blocked by his. Her heart was pounding she knew Xavier was scared for her, for their child or children as he said, but she still didn't understand what Draco got from all this. He was free like he wanted what more could he want? Serenity let Xavier surround her, his masculine scent, he smelled of the rain forest and pine. It was an intoxicating scent that soothed her, that and his strong hand that rubbed gently at her neck pouring strength into her. Serenity tripped almost falling on a dead body but Xavier caught her his reflexes fast and he swooped her up into his arms, "I'm too heavy Xavier." Serenity whispered pressing her head into his chest. "Serenity," there was a note of warning in his tone that made Serenity glance up at him, she was scared, of being pregnant of Draco of this world and she couldn't leave now. Not that she wanted to, she had Xavier, she was having his children and she knew she was falling in love with him, the way touched her and the way he protected her but she knew he didn't feel the same. They only mated to save her from Draco and she knew he would reset her, but at the moment she needed him, his strength and soon Serenity started to drift off to sleep.

          Xavier walked onto the small plane careful not to wake Serenity who looked so small in his arms. He looked down at her, her dark hair pulled over her body like a blanket her eyes had dark rings surrounding her. She was clearly exhausted and it angered Xavier because he knew he was part of the problem. Their world had been taking a toll on her not the mention her unexpected pregnancy. Xavier didn't think about it too much as he took his seat holding Serenity close to him he needed to protect her he needed her to know that she was his and that he had no intention of leaving. He knew she felt as if he were aloof these last few weeks, hell he was but only because he feared for her safety. He was in love with her, he would do anything for her but he knew how she felt about the immortal realm. It terrified her and he knew he couldn't force her into it he had to let her come to terms with it. Xavier sighed leaning his head on the seat his hands running down Serenity's back. She sighed her eyes blinking up the blue striking against her tan skin and dark hair. Her long lashes lifted to him blinking slowly. She hardly slept he noticed not that he blamed her he was a light sleeper due to being an ancient warrior. "Are we in Greece yet?" she asked moving closer to him her lavender scent wrapping around him with her every shift. "No, love we haven't taken off yet," Serenity looked at Xavier her gaze shifting over his face before she ran her hand over his cheek. "I'm sorry Xavier. About everything I know this isn't what you want." Serenity whispered her blue eyes filling with tears. Xavier arched a brow waiting for her to finish, "I can take care of them by myself I can move back to New York or something I can," Xavier pulled her up to him her breast pressing against his chest her eyes met him they were face to face and he was angry. She thought he didn't want her and that pissed him off. "Stop, Serenity. For years I searched for you. You're my woman, my mate and I'd be damned if you went around thinking I didn't love you with all I am.  You're mine do you understand?" Xavier demanded his hand fisting her think silky hair. Serenity met his gaze blue against brown her breathing was labored as she nodded. "Don't think for a second I don't love you Serenity," Xavier said softly. Serenity pressed her hands against Xavier's face her forehead pressed against his, his hand still in her hair they were one in that moment. Closer than before it was intimate just the two of them. "I love you too Xavier, too much and it scares me." Serenity whispered tears silently falling down her cheeks, her full red lips brushed gently over his mouth. "Let me worry about it Serenity, let me protect you and know that I would die for you and kill for you." Serenity swallowed hard nodding gently before pressing her mouth against his. She was hesitant, gentle Xavier pressed her closer to him taking control of the kiss his tongue moving with hers in a sensual dance, one he lead he poured his love and lust into the kiss he was showing her that she was his undoing and that he'd do anything for her. Xavier pulled away running his thumbs over her cheeks watching the dazed look in Serenity's dazed eyes his heart beating in sync with hers. "Please be in your seats before we take off," Isiah said walking onto the plane before taking his own seat next to Juliette. Serenity moved to sit next to Xavier her hand finding his and they made their way to Greece.
