Oblivion

Chapter 28

     Serenity sighed softly as she walked along the shadows to not be seen, she was basically carrying Avalon  as she walked in the night. Her feet were cut from the broken gravel and she was naked, the flames from her powers burned off her clothes and the only thing she had was a jacket that was left under all the ruble in the club. She didn't know where she was going or what time it was,she was scared and nauseous after she killed Dedra to save her friend. Everyone in town was gone, evacuated to a different region but some were still trying to leave. Houses were destroyed and cars were sticking from the cracks in the streets. She was afraid because she was in an unknown area and she was already too weak as it was, the more she had walked the weaker she felt. Serenity lost her train of thought when Avalon began to stir awake her brown eyes meeting hers. "Serenity?" her voice croaked Serenity nodded and sat her friend down and sat next to her relieved she could sit down, "You didn't leave me." Avalon stated. Serenity looked at her raising an eyebrow, "I wouldn't let you die Avalon. I don't know what happened to the others so I've been trying to find Jonas's house in hopes they would be there but I'm not sure." Serenity said sighing softly to herself. "I'm sorry." Serenity wrapped her arm around Avalon leaning her head against her shoulder, "We need to find the house Avalon. Can you walk?" Avalon nodded and pulled Serenity to her feet and the two made their way to the house or what they hoped was the house.

  Xavier paced back and forth his heart pounding and his anger rising, it's been five hours since the earth stopped shaking and the car alarms to turn off. Two hours without word about Serenity. Eli was pacing right beside him worried about Avalon when the women stopped screaming from being drained it seemed as if Avalon had stopped or forced to stop. No one knew what was going on, and it angered Xavier more but he knew he couldn't kill Aaron. No matter how bad they wanted to. They couldn't leave, the house was pitch black and it was darker outside, the only light was coming from some candles that Olivia found when she felt better, but Xavier couldn't care less what was happening to anyone else, Serenity was out there by herself and Draco was on the loose and could have her. Xavier ground his teeth together trying not to lash out at everyone, he just need to know if Serenity wad okay or not. Xavier walked to the door throwing it open trying to get out only to be pushed back and away from the door. "Why the hell would you trap us in here?" Xavier demanded Aaron flashing his fangs again wanting nothing more than to end the males life. Aaron sighed rolling his dark blue eyes about to answer when something sounded outside. Xavier palmed the dagger he kept at his side ready to kill anyone who entered the house but stopped when he saw Avalon and Serenity walking towards the house. As they walked up the steps Xavier felt over whelmed with emotion and the moment the two walked into the door Xavier was at Serenity's side Eli at Avalon's. Xavier grabbed Serenity his lips pressing into hers and she didn't protest her arms wrapping around his neck. Her body trembled and Xavier could smell the blood all over Serenity. When he pulled away Xavier looked at her, "Serenity," Serenity met his gaze her eyes dull and black circles surrounded her eyes. "Dedra's dead. I killed her." Serenity whispered her voice catching and her eyes watered tears slowly flowing down her cheeks. "Shh. Love it's okay, were you hurt?" Xavier asked. Serenity shook her head looking at Avalon who looked just as shaken up as Serenity. Eli had his arms around her and she didn't protest, they wouldn't know what the two went through or what happened but Xavier knew he would never let Serenity out of his site ever again.

  Serenity sighed softly as Xavier sat on the edge of the tub tending to the wounds on her feet as a bath ran. "I'm sorry I wasn't there Serenity." Serenity didn't respond, she knew Aaron transported them there he told her that when she got there, he was apologetic but Serenity was just numb from it all. She and Avalon almost fell to hell and they spent hours walking at night barefoot over dead bodies and glass. She killed someone, literally pulled her heart out of her body watching as it rolled across the club floor. Not to mention Dedra said she were pregnant, and that scared her more than anything she saw tonight. Xavier cleaned her feet before standing up and helping her into the tub. "Xavier," Serenity said grabbing Xavier by his arm, "can you stay with me please?" Xavier nodded stripping his clothes climbing in behind Serenity pulling her closer to him. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked. Serenity shook her head turning her head towards Xavier, "Is it possible that I'd be pregnant Xavier?" Serenity asked softly her hand going to her flat stomach. Xavier stiffened he's been to focused on everything else that he's tuned out a lot of things. Then it came back to him that Dedra said Draco was after their child but he didn't think it was possible. Then he listened closely, he could hear the steady beat of Serenity's heart but the closer he listened he heard a very faint beating heart. Xavier placed his palm on her stomach then he heard it two faint heart beats. Xavier cursed before climbing out of the tub leaving Serenity in there alone. Serenity swallowed hard looking down at her stomach, why would it matter if she had a baby? What did Draco gain from it? Serenity didn't dwell on it she couldn't be pregnant at least she didn't think she could be. But judging by Xavier's reaction she was. Serenity quickly washed herself trying not freak out or get sick, she couldn't bring a child into this world. Especially with Draco at of his prison, the only thing that mattered now was this child she was carrying. The sound of the door opening drew her attention and Xavier walked in looking at her his dark eyes looking down at her. "Let's go we need to leave, Draco could be here and I don't want you anywhere near him." Xavier said putting some clothes on the sink before turning and throwing her clothes in a duffel bag. Serenity dressed in the sweats he gave her and walked into the room where he was shoving clothes into the bags in a hurry. "Xavier." "Serenity, not now we need to go now. I'm not risking Draco getting you. So please do as I say and lets go." Serenity sighed walking over to Xavier grabbing the bag from him. "I didn't mean for this to happen Xavier." she whispered, Xavier sighed grabbing Serenity and pulling her close to him pressing a kiss to her head. "I won't let anything happen to you or them Serenity." Serenity looked up at Xavier, "Them?" Xavier nodded placing a hand on her stomach. "I can hear two heart beats, steady and healthy. I didn't hear it before with everything going on until you said the Dedra said you were." Serenity looked down at her flat stomach then up at Xavier, his eyes were hard and clouded over by worry. "You have my word. Nothing will happen to you or the babies." Serenity nodded slowly as he pulled away from her and grabbed her bag and hand leading her out of the room. "Where are we going?" Serenity asked as he walked down the stairs where Eli and Avalon waited. "Everyone already took the commercial plane, Jonas and Dimitri are landed on the beach so we need to get going." Eli said his British accent thicker and his hand entwined with Avalon's. "Where are we going?" Serenity asked again.

  "To my mothers in Greece." Xavier said.
