Oblivion

Chapter 30

The plane skirted across the asphalt the wheels loud against the cement as the plane came to a stop. Xavier looked down at Serenity her dark hair a blanket across her face as she slept soundly in the seat next to him. "Did, you tell your mother we were coming?" Isiah asked as he stood up his voice barely above a whisper. "She is. I doubt she'll enjoy the fact that Draco is free. I'm surprised he hasn't struck yet, it's as if he's waiting for the right moment." Xavier said rubbing two fingers against his jaw. "You haven't had blood in weeks," Xavier shrugged standing up about to wake up Serenity but Isiah stopped him his hand gripping Xavier's arm. "Go I'll make sure Serenity get's to the house," Xavier sighed and nodded moving away from Serenity and found his way off the plane. The crisp air hit him as he moved through the darkness. He was a predator of the night, anyone was his prey. He moved along the dark allies keeping hidden from the view of by standards then he heard voices in the alley. Arguing causing Xavier to peek around the corner where he saw two men, pushing a young boy around punching him and kicking him once he fell to the ground. Xavier was behind one man his fangs sinking in his neck before he could second guess himself. Xavier held the man down his hand closing on his windpipe crushing it but the other man and boy didn't see them. "Oswald? που είσαι?" Xavier heard the panic in the mans voice he was speaking in Greek to the boy who moved away. Xavier could hear their hearts beating he could taste their fear as he moved the man away from him. He wasn't dead though he should be but Xavier had to keep his composure. "τι κάνεις με το αγόρl?" Xavier asked in Greek so the man would understand him. The man whimpered looking at the boy who's nose was bleeding, he couldn't be more than twelve years old and Xavier didn't give the man time to answer he just sank his fangs in his exposed throat. He could taste the bitterness of drugs in his blood making Xavier push him away and he wiped his mouth telling the kid to leave swiping his memory so none of them remembered him. He ran his hands through his hair walking towards the cliff watching as the water overlapped the jagged rocks the smell of sea salt heavy in the air. He glanced around him before jumping to the bottom, he was in the same spot he and Serenity fought Draco and his people for the first time. They had been laying on the beach when Draco appeared from nowhere ready to kill him. It was the same day he held Serenity's lifeless body in his arms, he failed to protect her then and he couldn't let that happen again. She meant too much to him he was the very air he'd breath. She was his undoing and she held all the power to him, and he knew he couldn't loose her again.

Serenity sighed softly as she felt a hand gently touch her face, she blinked slowly and saw Xavier leaning next to her, his hand gently in her hair. "Xavier," she whispered he turned to her a small smile playing at the corner of his mouth. "Hey love." She leaned up stretching her sore muscles before smiling up at Xavier. "Are you alright?" Xavier nodded and stood up handing her a pair of clean clothes. "Figured you would want to grab a shower before we talked," Serenity nodded standing next to him her heart light and she was happy, just to be standing with Xavier. He was strong when she was weak, he was her rock and she loved him. Serenity walked over to him wrapping her arms around him laying her head against his chest the strong steady beat of his heart soothing her. Xavier wrapped his arms around her leaning his chin against her head holding her to him. As if he were afraid to let her go. "Xavier promise me something," she whispered her voice small. "Promise me to never let me go, I don't want to loose you again because I don't think I could handle it again." Xavier lifted her chin his brown gaze holding her captive and at his mercy. "Marry me."
