Oblivion

Chapter 33

Serenity gasped as a sharp pain ran through her body, she was on fire her body was heating up and a slow flame licked at her skin. She looked around the room but she was alone, and nothing but darkness surrounded her. Serenity grabbed the edge of the bed pulling herself up, the smell of blood was heavy in the air and she felt that pain again. She screamed her body arching the force of the pain too much for her, blood was running down her legs sticking to her skin as sharp pains stabbed at her back and abdomen. A crash sounded downstairs followed by a howl of pain. Serenity gripped the wall walking slowly around the corner, she was alone her heart racing with every step. She was having trouble breathing and keeping her eyes open, black webs wove together behind her eyes as she saw a large sword go flying through the air and into the wall above her head. "Serenity!" Xavier shouted rushing upstairs towards her, blood ran from a gaping wound on his side, "Xavier, it hurts," she gasped falling to her knees. Xavier lifted her into his arms running down stairs with her. "Serenity," Serenity felt strong hands on her shoulders and her eyes opened meeting Ian's concerned blue eyes. Serenity gasped her hand going to her stomach and her legs to see if she were bleeding, but she wasn't. " 'Twas a bad dream love," Ian said moving away from her. "Xavier?"
"He went out for a bit, he should be back soon." Serenity let Ian help her sit up running a shaking hand through her hair, it was a dream, that was all. "Are ye alright?" Serenity nodded her throat to dry to say anything. That dream was so real it scared her, but she couldn't focus too much on it because Olivia and Scarlet came bounding inside. Olivia smiled at Ian who winked in response and he sent one more look to Serenity who smiled softly though it didn't reach her eyes but he nodded and left. "Come on you need to shower and get ready," Olivia exclaimed.

"Why?" Scarlet gently helped Serenity sit up her stomach making it harder for her to sit up on her own. "You're getting married today silly!" Serenity looked at her friends her brows furrowed in confusion as she was rushed into the bathroom. Serenity was rushed through the process but time seem to slow down when she saw the dress. It was black, not the traditional white she expected. It was beautiful and unique like her relationship with Xavier. Scarlet and Olivia helped her into the soft silk moving over her skin like a caress. Serenity left her hair down letting the soft curls fall down her back and her friends escorted her downstairs and outside. Her bare feet hit damp grass and she saw the rose petals floating gently around her, the crisp sea salt air surrounding her then she saw him. Xavier standing by the cliff, his gaze found hers and in that moment she knew that she couldn't live without that man. Olivia placed a small bouquet of flowers in her hand and smiled at her moving over as her brother held his arm out for her. Serenity swallowed hard taking his arm letting him led her to Xavier. Her heart was pounding as Aaron kissed her cheek gently placing her hand in Xavier's. He was dressed in all black the only color was the red of his tie. He was sin where she was sweet, he was her strength yet her greatest weakness and she loved him, she hardly listened when Eli read their vows but she stopped when Xavier took her hands in his placing her palms against his chest.

"Serenity I've waited centuries for this moment, to have you in my arms, to call you mine. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I can't put in words how much I love you Serenity but I'll spend eternity showing you, my heart beats for you, I breath for you and I promise to be there to catch you when you fall. You are my oblivion Serenity, you are the only one who has the power to destroy me and I'll gladly let you. I can't wait to call you my wife." Serenity smiled tears pooling in her eyes and Xavier gently wiped them away, "I love you so much Xavier, you make me feel whole and happy, I don't know what I'd do without you. I can't imagine my life without you and I don't want to. You are my reason for existence and I can't wait to spend my life with you." Serenity whispered Xavier pressed a soft kiss to her head holding her to him as Eli's words drifted over them. "I do," Xavier whispered. "I do," Serenity whispered and he kissed her, his kiss full of love, and in that moment it was just the two of them against the world. Their love was a gift in itself and Serenity held onto it with both hands because she never knew when she'd lose it.
