----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joe rushes down the field as if a cheetah is chasing after him running past the line smiling when he hears the whistle blow and a point turn on the scoreboard. He dunks the ball on the grass and kicks it across the field ready to start again. He just loves playing football so much and loves the look on the his rival teams face when they win. He can remember when he first joined the team after high school when he got a scholarship and everyone laughed in his face on the field seeing how puny and weak he looked, he doesn't have a 6 pack or big muscles to intimidate them , it's all about the inner strength which he plenty off. Don't get me wrong he has abs just not what you'd expect a football player to have. The game carries on like it should having a 20 minute break in the middle, they're winning by a lot but that doesn't mean they should slack off because it could all change. Joe catches the ball his head shooting around when he heard his name being called but not exactly by one his players or the coach. His eyes land on his older brother with his little brother by his side.

"Joe she's in labour!" He hears Kevin shout and the last thing her heard before everything went black.

Joe's eyes flutter open squinting when his eyes sting from the sudden light hits them. He groans feeling achy all over knowing he's in the hospital, shame he can't remember what happened before. All he can remember is he was in a game before it happened. His eyes open and wonder down his body seeing a bandage on his left knee. His glance leads to the door which is opening, he sees a man probably mid thirties in a long white coat holding a clip board securely in his right hand.

"How are you feeling?" He asks obviously giving him sympathy which Joe gets confused over, why would someone he doesn't know be giving him sympathy unless his family have told him about him. All he knows is the news he is about to hear isn't going to be good news.

"Alright I guess, what happened?" Joe questions.

"You were tackled in your football game, what do you remember?" He questions holding his pen ready to note what he says down. Joe begins explain what he remembers starting from when he got up like the doctor has asked him too. Joe can notice the nervousness look on the doctors face. He doesn't want no bad news, he just wants to go back to sleep and probably stay asleep. "I have some bad news then." He states taking a seat at the end of the bed.

"What is it?" Joe questions beginning to prepare himself mentally in his mind.

"When you were tackled you fell wrong on your left knee, you need special treatments every week to repair them," He begins hating the look of Joe's face, he always has hated this part of the job, having to tell people the most horrible news to them. "You won't be able to play football again," he states and that is the moment Joe's world shattered around him, Joe looks down at the bed sheet trying to process what he has been told. "I'm sorry Joe."

"Ever again?" Joe questions and he says shaking his head.

"It's not worth risking it, you could damage it even more, I don't think even surgery will repair the muscle but it will be able to repair itself enough for you to be able to do low level exercise," He explain and Joe nods not quite believing what he's been told. He's been playing football for as long as he can remember, playing with his dad at the age of 7 in the park not knowing his dad was actually letting him win. It's all over, he won't be able to do the one thing he enjoys anymore. "I have more bad news but also good news." he states and Joe looks at him.

"So there's good news this time," Joe mumbles and he chuckles slightly. "Bad first, hopefully the good news will make the bad news not seem so bad." Doctor Collins  does laugh this time but Joe's face stays straight.

"The bad news is your fiancé had already given birth." He shares and Joe's eyes widen slightly all the memories coming back into his mind. The day he proposed to the love of his life and the day he found out he'd be becoming a dad by the end of the next year. He missed it, the birth of his first child, something he won't be able to relive again.
