Everything Happens for a Reason- A Jemi Love Story

Episode 15

Everything was burly for Joe not remembering what happened besides his daughter getting rushed into hospital Demi next to him the whole time just for support. The last thing on his mind is calling Scarlett, he wants to make sure his daughter is healthy again before that happens. He doesn't take his eyes off his daughter crying as she has a mask over her face forcing her to inhale the fumes that will clear her airways. He doesn't like seeing her cry and struggle, he wants her to be a healthy little baby. His eyes don't even leave her when he hears the door open, only Demi does.

"Are you her parents?" The doctor questions, Demi looks at Joe and sighs when he doesn't even acknowledge that she had walked in.

"I'm not, he's her father though." Demi explains and the doctor nods.

"Can I speak with him outside?" She questions and Demi nods.

"I'll send him out in a minute." Demi says and the doctor nods her head gently before leaving the room standing outside. Demi turns her body to met Joe who still doesn't move his glance.

"Joe go speak to the doctor, I'll keep an eye on her." Demi states and Joe debates it before nodding his head standing up making his way out the room quickly moving his glance to Sadie again before the door closes. The doctor motions for him to sit down on the chair opposite the door, he can see through the window though at his daughter who is becoming more hysterical sensing that she doesn't have either of her parents in her presence smiling slightly when he see's Demi rush over stroking the small amount of hair covering her head in an attempt to calm the little girl down.

"I-is she okay?" Joe stutters not prepared himself for any bad news.

"She'll be fine, she has asthma which is quite rare in babies." Dr. Neigh explains but that doesn't make Joe feel any better.

"So what's gonna happen?" Joe questions.

"She is too young to take an inhaler so you'll be given a sort of inhaler like that which you'll just put over her mouth if she starts wheezing or struggling to breath. I'll show you how to use it if you'd like?" She suggests and Joe nods as they make their way back into the room where Dr. Neigh takes the mask of Sadie, Joe takes her up into his arms her instantly calming down curling up into her dad's lower stomach, Demi smiles slightly seeing him with her. The doctor starts explaining how the contraption works as Sadie begins falling asleep again in her dad's arms.

Scarlett rushes down the halls and barges into the room. She was making her way back from the shop when she got a phone call from her fiancé explaining that their daughter was in hospital, she didn't even give him chance to explain before she hung up rushing to the hospital. She probably should have done though, then she wouldn't be whittling.

"Relax she's fine." Joe says before she can say anything, Scarlett takes a deep breath of relief before making her way over to him Joe allowing her to take her off them as he begins explaining what had happened earlier that day. Demi had left to the bathroom now sitting outside on her phone allowing them to have a family moment.

"But she'll be fine right?" She questions and Joe nods.

"They want to keep her overnight though just for precautions." Joe noted and she nods.

"You go to Demi's concert, I'll stay with her overnight." She demands and Joe sighs nodding his head knowing it's best for his daughter. He doesn't know if he's up to working tonight knowing that something serious could happen overnight and he wouldn't be able to get to them as quickly as he would want but it's always just been one person who can stay with a child over night and she needs her mom in this stage of her life more than her dad, as much as he hates to admit it it's the truth. Joe leans back on his chair running his fingers through his short black hair not caring if he's messing it up slightly. He's not in the mood to care about appearance.

Last of the night, I'm knackered haha had a 3 1/2 hour practical cooking exam at college and it's drained me haha, I have a day off tomorrow so I can update more if you guys comment :P
