Episode 42

I got toothache :(

Joe sits up quickly breathing heavy Demi sighing of relief when he is awake. She lays down on the bed next to him holding him in her arms as he slowly drifts of to sleep again. Demi is becoming tired of constantly doing this most nights, she wants to know why he acts this way and what's making him scream so much in his sleep but when she does ask him he just pushes her away. She's decided to demands answers this time, she's had enough of all the worry over him. Demi soon drifts off deep in thought about Joe.

Joe wonders downstairs with a crying Sadie in his arms, he makes his way into the kitchen where Demi passes him a bottle having heard the movement from upstairs, Joe gives her a kiss on the lips before taking a seat on the stool gently pushing the end of the bottle into Sadie's mouth watching as she drinks from the bottle.

"Joe I want answers." Demi demands making Joe look up at her a dazed expression on his face wondering what she means by that.

"What do you mean?" Joe questions and Demi sighs taking a seat next to him wanting to hold onto his hands but can't.

"What do you dream about that makes you scream like that?" She questions and he sighs this time looking down at the floor not wanting to tell her. He wanted to keep it all in to himself but he knows if he wants a serious relationship with Demi he can't keep anything from her. He doesn't want a relationship where she's keeping things from her so he presume she doesn't want the same.

"I'll tell you after breakfast." Joe states looking up again seeing Demi nod climbing up off her chair beginning to make them breakfast.

Joe sits down on the couch pulling Demi with him so she is sitting on his lap. She smiles leaning up kissing him pulling away a couple of moments later laying her head on his chest as she begins drawing circles on his chest as she listens to his soft heartbeat. Joe smiles at the alone time their having, something they don't get often but Sadie is fast asleep upstairs. What Joe doesn't remember is that they aren't alone, Demi has her son growing well in her lower body. He just wants to tell her but he knows it will hurt her and him even more.

"M-my dreams are about Scarlett." Joe stutters, Demi lifts her head up looking into his eyes.

"What about her?" She questions Joe closes his eyes so Demi can no longer look into them anymore but she is still looking at his face.

"S-She comes to me, screaming at me that I'm a bad person and I'm a terrible dad. I know it's not real but it still hurts me, I loved her." Joe murmurs tears escaping his closed eyes. Demi sighs wiping them away pecking his lips gently. 

"Joe it's been a couple of months now, her death shouldn't be effecting you like it now so I think you should go see a counsellor." Demi suggests.

"My mom has said I should go see one." Joe states.

"Maybe you should then, there's nothing wrong with seeing one but I think everyone who knew you and Scarlett could tell how much you loved and cared for each other. You just need a little bit of professional help to get over it fully." Demi explains and Joe nods.

"Thanks." Joe mumbles opening his eyes again meeting hers.

"You're welcome." Demi smiles  laying her head back down on his chest smiling wider when she sees and feel his arms snake around her waist his hands wrapping together laying on her small bump. He kisses the side of her head as they begin embracing each other in a comfortable silence. Joe knows he needs professional help now that plenty of people had told him about it so he will go get some. Demi is just now happy that Joe will hopefully be getting better. No more secrets between them, well apart from the one Joe hadn't told her yet.
