Episode 49

Joe holds onto Sadie's hand kneeling down so she is level with her sighing when he sees a tear roll down her cheek softly. He leans up wiping away the tears hugging her back as she gives him a big hug. He picks her up beginning to spin around in hope that it will cheer her up a little bit, she lets out a little giggle but then stops not wanting to show her happiness. Demi smiles at the sight holding securely onto Zane's hand.

"Daddy don't make me go!" five year old Sadie demands Joe sighing placing her back on the floor and kneeling down kissing her forehead.

"You have to baby girl, you'll have a great time, you'll meet loads of new people and friends I promise." Joe states.

"Mommy when me go to school?" Zane questions.

"Next year baby." Demi explain picking him up holding him against her hip. Joe sighs again looking back at his daughter who is very nervous about her first day at school. She had always been a little shy around new people so Joe knew it would have become a problem when it was her time to go to school. He just can't believe how quickly she has grown up, it only feels like yesterday he had limped into the hospital after missing the birth. He didn't even know straight away she was a girl but relief flooded him when she was. He always just saw himself with a daughter first then the son which is how it worked out.

"If you're a good girl we'll go get ice cream afterwards," Joe whispers in her ear making her eyes light up with excitement making Joe and Demi laugh. Sadie gives her dad a peck on the cheek and Demi a hug before rushing into the building. Joe stands up proud of what he had just accomplished, he takes Zane off Demi as they make their way back to the car.

Joe sits down next to Demi on the couch bring her up to sit on his lap wrapping his arms around her so his hands are resting on the bump she has hiding his 2nd daughter not helping but smiling when he feels movement and his wedding ring gleaming in the sunlight coming through the window. He kisses the side of her head making Demi smile wider.

"Aren't I too heavy?" Demi questions trying not to put much weight to squash him.

"Your fine Dems." Joe reassures making Demi un-tense in his grip, she leans more into his chest placing her hands on top of his. Their peace and quiet soon gets disturbed by their son running through with a picture he just drew. Demi climbs off Joe's lap taking the paper in his hand.

"Come here," Demi says Zane jumping up on the couch in-between his two parents, Demi holds the sheet in front of him pointing to something on the page. "Who's this?"

"That's daddy!" He exclaims Joe smiling when he looks closely. "That's you, Sadie, me and then my new sister." Zane explains pointing his fingers at each of the figures on the page.

"Why have I got a beard?" Joe questions.

"Because you have one!" He squeals making Joe chuckle.

"No I don't!" Joe defends beginning to tickle his son, Demi smiles moving out the way so the boys can have their little fight and not harm the baby girl growing inside of her stomach. She wonders into the kitchen the smile not leaving her face still hearing the squealing coming from in the living room. She places the paper on the refrigerator keeping it up with a magnet.

"Zane come and help make lunch!" Demi shouts Zane soon appearing at the door standing up on the stool they had brought. Both Joe and Demi already know what Zane will become a chef one day, he always helps Demi with the cooking and such. Demi loves that time to spend with her son.

"Chicken!" Zane exclaims Demi giggling.

"You and your chicken!" Demi exclaims making him giggle too as they begin packing the sandwich together cutting them into triangles. "Go give it to daddy." Demi encourages helping him off the stool passing him the plate smiling as he runs off.
