Everything Happens for a Reason- A Jemi Love Story

Episode 4

Kevin and Nick wonder through into the room with Joe after he went out to get them. Joe picks her up and passes her to Kevin carefully not trying to wake her up. Kevin looks down at her with Nick who is looking over his side. They smile at the little miracle which was created, the first Jonas girl in a long while and Joe is proud to be the father of that little girl.

"You thought of a name?" Nick questions looking form Scarlett to Joe, Joe looks over at Scarlett who nods her head gently. They had names in mind for a boy and a girl before she was born but wouldn't confirm anything until they saw their child.

"Sadie Alexis," Joe reveals and they smile seeing the proud look on his face. "We're putting her on the pill now." He states and they laugh.

"Joseph!" Scarlett lectures.

"What? She's never getting married, she's staying with her dad forever." he states.

                    Kevin and Nick stay for a bit longer bonding some more with their niece until they decide they should leave to allow them to have a family moment. 

"At least we can finally get married now." Joe admits kissing the side of her head as he lays next to her on her hospital bed. Scarlett looks up and smiles at him.

"And when will that be?" She questions but he shrugs. 

"As soon as possible." He replies and she laughs slightly snuggling into his chest some more.

A week later and Scarlett is about to come home with Sadie, Joe was realised a couple of days earlier still having to go back and do some therapy so his knee is back in working order. He's come to the reality of the fact he will not be able to play football again even though it is killing him he will not play and search for another job. Everyone has just about met Sadie and everyone is in love with her already, all she does is eat, sleep and poop but that is enough for everyone to fall in love with her that little bit more. Joe takes the car seat from Scarlett which Sadie is sleeping in peacefully placing it on the stand in the car. He then helps Scarlett get in the car next to Sadie so she can make sure she's okay on her first car journey. Joe climbs in and they set off.

"I should be the one helping you with your bad knee." Scarlett states stroking her daughter's cheek gently hoping it will stop her whimpering.

"I wasn't the one who gave birth to a 7 pound baby." Joe states back making her chuckle slightly.

"You okay driving?" She questions.

"I'm fine baby, stop worrying about me." He assures and she nods.

"You're always hurting yourself, I can't help but worry." She teases laughing when she sees him stick his tongue out at her through the mirror.

They pull up at the house they share together Joe going to help Scarlett out but she stops him lecturing him to go sit down and rest his knee, he grumbles a bit before obeying. Scarlett shakes her head watching him walk up the stoned path unlocking the door. She opens the door at the closest to the car seat taking it out carefully, she locks the car and wonders up to the house just in time for Sadie to start crying. She sits the car seat on the couch and reaches in pulling her out sitting down next to Joe.

"Hungry?" Joe guesses and she nods.

"I presume so, I changed her just before you picked me up." She states pulling up her shirt, she allows Sadie to latch onto her breast and feed off her. She knows breast feeding is the best thing for her so will use it as much as she can, it will be easier during the night when she wakes them up. Joe watches intrigued on the process Scarlett trying her best not to burst out laughing. Sadie pulls away showing her mother she is done. Scarlett adjusts her in her arms allowing Joe to pull down her shirt.

"Hardest thing I've had to do." Joe flirts.

"Shut up." She says and he laughs.
