Everything Happens for a Reason- A Jemi Love Story

Episode 18

Joe was the last one to get up the next morning seeing his fiancé gone but sensing that his daughter is still with him. He sits up stretching out his arms yawning and rubbing his eyes before standing up slipping a shirt on over the sweats he wore in bed before walking to the crib. He smiles when he sees his daughter awake, he leans down picking her up holding against his middle before making his way through into the living area where everyone is talking while eating their breakfast greeting Joe when they see him.

"Lazy boy," Demi lectures and he shrugs.

"I'm not gonna deny that." He says and they laugh slightly. Joe lays Sadie down on the crease of his legs placing his big hands on her side in case she just rolls over. Scarlett begins tickling her tummy and Sadie begins kicking her arms and legs up and down like it is tickling her but she can't laugh. Joe laughs put pushes her hand away. "It will hurt if she begins kicking harder." he explains and they all laugh Wilmer knowing that it would.

"Not as much as me pushing her out." Scarlett teases and Joe shrugs.

"We're off to see your family." Demi states and Joe looks over with a confused look on his face.

"Scarlett said that two of your family live in New Jersey and that's where were going so I said we'd go see him. Demi explains and Joe nods. Joe and Scarlett originally met in New Jersey but after school moved to New York so Joe could follow out his football career. Scarlett's plan had always been to be a stay at home mom but still worked hard to get the grades needed. As soon as the family found out that there would be a new addition to the family once Scarlett was nearly ready to op they flew out to meet him or her but now have gone back home.  

"They've only seen Sadie once so I thought it would be nice." Scarlett explains.

"I guess it would." Joe states allowing Scarlett to take Sadie from his legs so he can get himself some breakfast and a coffee.

Joe climbs off the tour bus helping Scarlett lift Sadie down who is in the stroller. Wilmer and Demi following. Joe and Scarlett feel good being back home where they grew up just like Demi does when she goes back to Dallas. Joe's family moved a lot when they first started out, the 4 boys some being born in three different states but after Nick was born in Dallas they decided to stay in New Jersey soon welcoming youngest brother Frankie.

"How many brothers do you have again?" Demi questions.

"Three and I have a sister in law too." Joe explains beginning to push Sadie through the streets Scarlett walking by Demi's side next to the stroller Wilmer the other side of Demi holding onto her hand. Demi nods her head gently.

"Don't you have family here Scarlett?" Demi asks.

"No, they live in Australia now, I have two brothers." She explains and Demi nods understanding everything. They are not due to be at Joe's family home for another hour so decided to walk through the park for a little while so they don't have to show up early. Joe looks around know that he is still meant to be working asking Scarlett to begin pushing as they make their way into the park. They swap positions so Joe is closer to Demi in case anything were to happen. Soon enough people know that Demi Lovato is in the park but do keep their distance a couple of fans coming over and asking for a autograph which Joe allows knowing he is close by. Wilmer's eyes are on him the whole time seeing he isn't really that bad, he begins thinking he should have given him more of a chance but that doesn't mean he likes this guy. He still dislikes him.

"If I were famous I'd have a quick autograph otherwise I'd get bored of doing so many." Joe states.

"And mine is long?" Demi questions and Joe shrugs.

"Weren't watching." He admits and they laugh slightly.

 "Strange boy." Demi accuses Joe pretending to act hurt.
