It's been a few weeks now since the pack has settled in and we had already started expanding the pack house but most of us slept outside in tents that we discovered and there were even three caravans. This was how people with nothing build up an empire, this will be remembered in our history for years to come.

We were busy getting ready for a pack feast tonight because the other Alpha was coming back today and tonight two packs will be formed. I was slightly nervous about the idea of the other Alpha. Zeke refused to say anything and always dodged the conversation. I was helping Lira and another lady make some salads and other dishes. Half of the females had gotten jobs in the city nearby so we were slowly starting to make money, when we had enough some of the men will start to work as well but for now they were focused on fixing thr packhouse.

"So Dakota your father was an Alpha?" Lira asked and I frowned.

"No, he was a Beta. My uncle -Zeke's dad- was my Alpha" I said and she frowned.

"But your wolf- she has a really powerful aura. She radiates the power of an Alpha" she said.

"What no-"

"She does love everyone in the pack feels it why did you think they thought you were Zeke's mate in the beginning?" The older lady asked, I flinched when she called me love and Ryder's deep voice vibrated through my bones.

"Because we hugged a lot?" I asked and she snorted.

"You hug Elliot a lot as well. But it's because you radiate power Dakota" Lira said and I frowned.

"My mother was the daughter of an Alpha? Maybe that's it" I asked and they shrugged.

"Could be but still your wolf is to dominating. It might be because your wolf had to mature to quickly and so she grew a lot quicker and so she got a lot of power with it" the older lady said and I sighed.

"She has gone through a bit of stuff" I nodded.

"Dakota I don't want to pry but the day you saved the others you had a fading love bite on your neck, who gave it to you?" Lira asked and I stiffened.

"Uhm- my mate" I said softly.

"You- what happened?"

"He isn't who he said he was" I muttered and she took hold of my hand.

"You love him a lot?" She didn't ask she informed me.

"No" I snapped at myself because I knew I was.

"Oh wow you really love him a lot" she pressed.

"No, I don't he lied to me, he manipulated me and he broke my heart! I despise him" I snapped but my voice betrayed me as it squeaked at the end.

"You really do if your wolf misses him too"

"Yes, well I need to get over him. He hates me and he'll never want me" I sighed and she frowned.

"How can-"

"My mate is the Alpha of the Dark Ash Pack" I said as I put the butter knife down and walked off.

"Don't go to far!" Zeke shouted after me as I stomped off to the treeline. I shifted into Grey and she whimpered in excitement as she took of running.

Was it just me or was she a lot faster? Was it me or was the world a bit smaller? Was it me or was her power a lot stronger. She came to a stop at a creek and she peered into the water.
