"Don't" I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"I wasn't-"

"I don't know why I did that okay! I panicked, okay! She wasn't supposed to know that I was here! She just showed up and I panicked!" I growled and he raised an eyebrow.

"Did you have to say those hateful and complete untrue things?" He asked and I growled.

"Yes, she wouldn't fucking leave!"

"Why does she need to leave! She was right there Ryder. She didn't hate you,  she was forgiving you!" He shouted and I sighed.

"She isn't safe with me! Not yet! I can't protect her if I'm not completely sure she's safe! Jason and the rest of that fucked up pack hasn't shown up yet! And I need to protect her from them! And I can't do that between a bunch of trees and rocks! Fuck it Eli, I don't even have a proper roof to put over her head! There's no security here! I can't provide for her!"

"She hasn't gotten anything better over-"

"SHE HAS HER PEOPLE! She doesn't have that with me, don't you get that! I am nothing but a reminder of her dead parents!  She might have wanted me back there but that's only because she was emotional and surprised. If she stayed for another half and hour she would've remembered what I did to her. She would've remembered and then hate me all over again! Okay! She still hates me-"

"She doesn't-"

"She does! She has already moved on with the Alpha! If she loved me like she said she did than she wouldn't have fallen so quickly for someone else" I snarled as my jealousy crawled into my heart.

"She was lonely-"

"And I'm not. I have a broken heart and a fucking broken wolf. Her wolf doesn't need me, mine does! I'm weak without her! And that's why she can't love me. Lycans don't share the same views on mates as we do. If she accepts me I'll be a weakness, if she accepts him she won't have one! Her wolf will never love me, only her human side will. And that's where the bond is, with our wolves. So it's useless. Useless to even try to win her back because her wolf will never love me back."

"So what you're just going to wither away in these forests trying to protect her?"

"No, I'll protect her until her people have grown strong enough. Then I'll find us a home and I'll settle down there. She'll be happy and I'll lead you"

"Yeah? While you lead us you'll be dying"

"As long as she's happy"

"You sure you're not bipolar? One second you tell her you hate-"

"She needed to leave! Don't you get it! I am not good enough for her!" I snarled and he sighed.

"I don't agree mate, I really don't"

"That's fine. What did you get from the patrols?"

"Nothing much"

"Right I'll take your shift"

"No" he shook his head. "I don't think it's a good idea for you to be running around her broders again. Not this soon" he said and my heart clenched.

"I just want to make sure-"

"That she isn't crying her eyes out? Well then you should have given her a chance to express her feelings and tell her side of the story."

"I didn't really want to listen how she tells me she hates me and she's in love with someone else." I snapped.

"Just make sure everything is okay" I said and stormed off.

I stumbled onto our borders, as soon as I was steady on my own feet I sunk to the ground. Tears were streaming down my face as I sobbed into my knees. It was happening all over again. The heart break.
