When Hayley Winters goes to the Pandemonium for her best friend Clary's 18th birthday she doesn't expect to get thrown into the Shadow World again or to fall for a blue eyed shadowhunter who is constantly in a bad mood.

The man in the locker slowly rises to his feet, clutching the wall for support as he stumbles forward
"Dad" Jace utters, still looking cautious at the scene unfolding
"Son" the man replies pulling Jace into a tight hug
Michael Wayland places his hands on Jaces shoulder "Son you're hurt" he say looking at his neck "How did you find me"
"Dad Valentine killed you, Valentine is h-here" Jace shakes, looking unnaturally pale
"No, Jace," Michael reassures him "its me" looking over at me and Clary introducing himself "I'm Michael Wayland. I'm Jaces father. Look i know what Jace told you but ive been here for 10 years. Valentine took off and left me."
"And Jocelyn Fairchild?" Clary asks hopefully
"He took her with him. You are?"
" I'm Clary, her daughter and this is Hayley my friend."
Something's fishy i think to myself as the two continue to talk, how would he know Valentine took Jocelyn if he was locked in a locker, and why would Meliorn lie he had no reason to, what if Michael Wayland is Valentine...
"Meliorn, the seelie told us that he was here with her." Clary says, Jace starts to teeter from side to side "Jace no!" Clary exclaims rushing towards him
Michael steps forward to help Clary ready him "Its ravener venom" I explain
"He kept telling us he was alright " Clary blurts out, her voice shaking slightly
"We have to find your father." Jace sputters out, his voice getting quieter until his is whispering
"Not my father, Valentine"
"His stele" Michael urges, searching Jaces pocket for it "Where is it?"
"Back pocket" Clary says pulling his shirt to the side to look at the wound, Michael grabs the stele and starts to slowly trace the rune onto Jaces arm making him cry out in pain
"What's wrong" Clary demands
"The rune is weak" Michael says shaking his head
"The ravener venom must be spreading" I say felling useless
"We have to help him" no shit Clary, "wait, but we closed the portal"
"Valentines got a standing portal." Michael informal us, hoisting jace up with the help of Clary... how would Michael know Valentine kept a portal if he was locked up... "lets go"
"Hey Jace, stay with me. Do you remember our first demon fight? When we were way out past the Institute? You were only 8 but you were so brave . You remember what you said?" Michael says, starting to sound worried
"I'm ready to die." Jace wheezes ripping onto Michael tightly
"And then I said sometimes its braver to live than it is to die. You remember?"
I slow down slightly so there are a couple of metres between us wanting to give them there privacy, maybe i was wrong, maybe he rally is Michael Wayland.
"Lets go" Clary calls to me and i look up to see them about to step through a portal

"We need your help" I call out as we stumble through the portal landing in the Jade Wolf restaurant aka Luke's werewolf HQ
Both Simon and Luke's heads shoot up before they hurry to there feet and rush over taking in the sight of a barley conscious Jace
"Hayley, what happened?" Simon asks, as we watch Luke help lower Jace down onto a vacant seat, Clary standing next to him with her arm still on his shoulder
"We thought we found Valentine, but he was already gone." I look up at Simon "Valentine took Jocelyn with him but we found Jace's father."
"Michael Wayland?" Luke questions looking the man up and down
"What? I thought Valentine killed Jace's father" Simon looks at the man confused
"He tried" Michael replies, before stepping towards Luke "Hello Lucian"
Put his cant be. I thought I'd never see you again." Luke mutters, still looking at the man
"I never thought I'd see anyone again" Michael says shrugging before going over to kneel in front of Jace
"What happened?" Luke nods towards Jace
"Well" I start "we ran into a slight problem and a demon gota hold on his neck and chomped down, i was like oh fuck, shit just went down."
"Thanks for the detailed explanation" Luke's says
"He cant fight the poison" Clary buts in "the runes are to weak and he needs blood but we cant go back to the Institute... Simon, Simon" she runs over to him "there's gotta be some kind of Blood at the Hotel DuMort, please. Could you call Raphael and ask him?"
Simon looks down at Clary's worried face and nods "Calling him won't work. We have to do this in person. My vans in the garage, you drive. Ill hide under a blanket o stay out of the sun and there's underground parking at the hotel."
"Perfecto" I say
"He's weaker, you gotta hurry." Michael calls as we rush to the door
Clary comes to a halt "jace, listen to me, im coming back. Please just hang on . Please" she kisses his forehead before running to the car.

I left Clary and Simon to go to the Hotel DuMort telling them I'd meet them back at Jade Wolf before turning and walking down the street to my apartment. I hadn't seen my mum in ages and she was probably worried about me.
Knock knock
"Mum its me" I call hearing footstep, mum opened the door and pulled me into a tight hug
"Thank god your okay, I haven't seen you in ages, i was worried something might've happened to you." She says rubbing my back.
"I'm fine, im fine... I would've came by sooner but looking after Clary is a lot harder than I expected it would be." I explain with a laugh letting her go and walking further into the room
I sit with mum in the living room for over 30minutes catching up and laughing before i get a call from Clary saying Jace was getting better
"I have to go" I tell mum pulling her into a hug "I promise ill call you more often"
"I love you baby, please be careful... i dont know what I'd do if i lost you." She smiles
"Don't talk like that ill be fine i promise." I say "I love you too. Don't have too much fun without me."
I turn back and wave as I walk further down the street.
