Chapter 61

-ZEE'S P.O.V-

"FUCK."
"Why do I feel so old? My other daughter is getting married tomorrow. I'm currently in their new house. With my others daughters pregnant wife down the street. I feel old. I am old. What happened to my little girls?"
"FUUUUUCK."
"Calm down, Zeez."
"Little hard to, Abs."

~ 'Calm down. You will get through it.'
Yeah, yeah.
'What do you want to say to Rose?'
Tell her I love her. I miss her.
'Got it.'

"Twin thing." Abby says.
"What?"
"Nothing. You'll deny it but we all know the truth."
"Whatever." Jamie and I say.
About 3 movies later and I'm sort of calmed down... well, not really... I miss Rose so much.
We all finally lay down, Jamie hugs me from behind as we curl up in bed. I know she won't be sleeping for the night. I feel bad that I'm keeping her from Lynn.

~ 'Don't feel bad. Sleep, Zeez. Tomorrow you get married.'

I'm sandwiched between mom and Jamie. Jamie holds me close and I lay my head on mom's shoulder. Abby lays at the foot of the bed with her hand reached out, holding mine.
Things start to slow down and I begin to fall asleep. A light sleep. But still a sleep.
Jamie isn't asleep. She's just holding me and trying to sleep but I know she won't. I know Rose won't sleep either.
My world goes slowly dark as it fades.

"ZEEEE."
"Fuck off." I groan.
"Zena. Get the fuck up. You're getting married today."
"Don't call me that, BIRD."
"Twat. Wake up. You have a wedding to put on." Jamie says.
"What time is it?"
"11." Abby says.
"WHY DID YOU LET ME SLEEP IN?!"
"To listen to you fart in your sleep."
"I don't, Abs."
"Yes, yes you do." Jamie says.
"Come on, Zee. Pretty sure you get married later today." Mom says.
"I made muffins?" Jamie offers.
"Really?"
"Yeah. But you have to get ready to leave in order to actually get them."
"Whyyy?"
"Because motivation."
They all walk out and head downstairs. I groan as loud as I can. They laugh at me.
I hurry to get dressed. It might be 11 and the wedding is at 6.. but I feel late. As soon as I'm dressed, I start my journey downstairs. Jamie's muffins literally wack me in the face.
I haven't had her baking since dad. And I missed her and now she's back. I'm thankful, I love the happy Jamie.

~ 'And happy-Jamie loves you too. Eat and let's go.'

I take a bite of her muffin and hum to the taste. I love Rose... but she can never beat Jamie's baking.
"Grab a few and let's go. We have to get you in the dress, along with doing makeup and hair."
"I'm going, Abby. Calm the fuck down."
I put like ten in a bag and we run off. We head off to the other side of the lake. We switched locations like a month ago, which caused a little trouble but this place costed less.
I don't really want to put Jack out of place with money. He completely denied my assistance. I will cover the honeymoon though. I bought our house right out too.
I just wanted the wedding to be as perfect as possible. Even if I also want it cheap. Jack insists money isn't an iasue... I still worry.

~ 'So deep in thought, Zee. It's almost time.'

Lynn walks up behind Jamie and kisses her cheek.
"Hey, Koala."
Jamie turns around quickly and pulls Lynn in a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek. I smile to them.
"How are my babes?" Jamie asks.
"Had morning sickness this morning, like every other. But other than that, J... Alex and I are good."
It's a quick action by Jamie.. one that completely melts my heart. Jamie dropped to a crouch and kisses Lynn's belly.
As Jamie stands up Lynn leans down and kisses her. There's a sigh from Lynn. "Have to finish helping Rose. I just wanted to see you."
"I missed you too, Ly." Jamie leans up and kisses her cheek.
Lynn sadly walks out of the room. Abby smiles between Jamie and I.
"That was adorable." She says to Jamie.
"Shut the fuck up." Jamie says.
"I agree with Abs."
Jamie rolls her eyes but can't hide the growing smile. "Alright. It's almost show time."
"Time flew by fast." Abby says.
"Last I checked it was noon. Now I'm getting married in 30 minutes."
"Less than."
"Yeah, thanks for reminding me, Abs."
"You're welcome." She smirks.
"I'm nervous."
"You'll be fine. Trust me."
"I'm dying. Literally. Absolutely terrified. What if I fuck up?"
"Look at it this way, you go through this and I'll show you the ultrasound pictures." Jamie smirks.
"YOU HAVE THEM? WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOW ME!?!"
"Motivation."
I groan. As the first chimes sound, my heartbeat sounds louder in my ears.
"Got to go now, Zee." Abby lightly hugs me before leaving.

~ 'You got this.'

Jamie walks out.
"I'll see you out there, sweetie." Mom says before she leaves.
The cue for the bridemaids comes on and it all becomes real. All of it is happening. All my dreams. I had no idea... I had no idea this would happen.

~ 'But it is. And it's your turn.'

Her timing is completely maddening. Rose's father walks in the room.
"Ready, Zee?" He smiles.
"I think so?"
He offers his arm for me, I stand up and take it. We walk, it's almost in slow motion. Almost but it's also fast, really fast.
As we stand in front of the door, the chime for me rings. What if she's not there?.... what if I choke?...
"I walked her up there myself, Zee."
"I'm just nervous, Jack."
"You'll be alright. I felt the same with Rose's mother. I didn't think I could even propose. Rose has more guts than I did. I literally choked."
I laugh, he smiles. "Come on, Zee. You got this."
The doors open as we walk forward. Fuck. We start walking. The sun shines in the background on the lake but my eyes focus on Rose.
The way the sun made her hair slightly shine... She changed her hair color back to her orginal? It's beautiful... The way the her tux fits her so perfectly. The way she smiles so brightly to me as I walk closer.
Before I know it, Jack's hand gives mine to hers.
"Hey, babygirl"
I laugh lightly. "Hey?"
She smiles and brings my hand to her lips. Her eyes stay locked on mine. Though tan, I can clearly see her blushing.
The world disappears for a moment and all I can see it her. All I can feel is her warm hands taking mine. The heart beating loudly in my ears.
Her eyes glow with the most strongest amount of love I have ever seen. I'm drowning in them. But the world reappears as the ceremony begins. I'm glad we chose the same guy as Jamie and Lynn to marry us, it was short and sweet...

~ 'Pay attention, twat.'
I am, dumbfuck.

I look over to Mom quickly because I hear sniffle. And for just a second... just a second I see dad...

~ Did you see?... did you see?
'Yeah, I did.'
How...
'He was walking next to you as you walked down the aisle too, Zee.'
He.. was?
'Yeah. He was.'

I look over again and see him. He smiles to me and the world is in slow motion. I look back to Rose and the world continues. It was like a conversation with Jamie and looking to dad was all in a second and it was.
The preacher does a subtle 'Ahem' to get everyone's attention. I can feel her heart beat fast through her warm hands as they're connected with mine.
My heart probably the same as hers right now. I'm nervous and I can see she is too. But I'm also excited to just finally kiss my wife.
I'm getting married. Right here, right now. And yet it feels so unreal. So.. extremely a dream. A really sad dream, if it is a dream.

~ 'Not a dream, Zeez. Not a dream. It's all real. I felt the same. You'll do alright. You can do this. You've got this.'
Thanks for the peptalk. Yet I feel so...
'Nervous? Mhm. You can do it.'

The world returns to normal speed. And the preacher speaks.
