-JAMIE'S P.O.V-

Chasing Andrew and Alex around is hell. Oh jesus. Lynn hasn't made it home yet and I just finished both Rose and my work.
I took her share for our jobs for the next couple of days because of Zee. When Zee gets sick, she's literally dead. It's scary.
Lynn walks in the door as I'm chasing the kids around the house.
"Hi babe." I say as I run after Alex through the kitchen.
"Alex. Stop running."
"NOOOOOOO."
Fuck this kid is too much like me. So much like me that she runs into the wall. GOD IT'S SO HARD NOT TO FUCKING LAUGH.
Alex starts crying. I look over and Lynn is covering her mouth. Jesus. I want to laugh.
I swoop behind Alex and pick her from the ground.
"I told you to stop running in the house, Alex. Didn't I?" I almost laugh out but keep my cool.
She nods and wipes her tears. This kid. I'm gonna die from not being able to laugh.
Her arms wrap around me and she hides her face in my chest. Oh how I love this girl.
"Hey lil buddy." Lynn picks up Andrew.
"I made dinner?" I offer.
"Then why would Alex be running?"
"You want to answer that for mommy."
"No." Alex says.
Oh joy a headache has come back. Lynn's eyes instantly line with worry.
"She wouldn't wash her hands."
Lynn takes Alex from me in her other arm and sighs.
"Panda, why aren't you listening to momma?"
She shrugs. Are you kidding me? Fuck.
"Would you wash you hands so we can eat?" Lynn sets Alex down and helps her wash her hands.
Lynn sits at the table and makes Alex sit on her lap. My girls. Both so beautiful.
I sit Andrew in the high chair and everyone eats. Alex is in sniffles between her bites. At least she listened to Lynn?
Alex loves Lynn more than she does me. I know for a fact she does. And I know she has since she was born.
After dinner, we take them to bed. Alex rests in her room and Andrew sleeps in the spare bedroom. And when they're all out and it's said and done, flopping in the bed is the best feeling in the world.
Lynn stands in front of the bed, holding medicine and water. Of course if I were to forget to take something for my pains, she would remember. She nods to me.
I sit up and take the pills. She climbs into bed and sits next to me.
"You know, you don't have to work yourself so hard, J."
"What do you mean?"
"I took the next few days off to help out. You looked like you were going to go crazy earlier."
"She ran into the wall. Okay. I tried. So. Hard. Not. To. Laugh." I speak as I start laughing.
"Yeah, that was pretty funny."
I sigh. "But it was her fault. I tried to tell her not to run in the house. All I wanted was for her to wash her hands but no, she started running for no fucking reason." I pause. "AND THEN SHE SHRUUUGGGGED." I yell out in confusion, raising my hands in the air in a what the fuck motion.
"Yeah, I don't understand her logics either."
I flop back against the bed. "She loves you more than she loves me, I already know that. But at least she can respect me."
"Babe. She's literally turning 2 in a few weeks." She pauses. "Fuck. It's been that long already?"
I burst out in laughter. "Evidently so."
"I don't think we did all that bad."
"Nah. You're a good mommy."
She rolls her eyes.
"I remember.. I said something. Or thought it. How I wanted the 5 days to turn into 5 months and then 5 years."
She lays down next to me and keeps her eyes locked on mine. God her beautiful grey eyes with silver lining of pure love... a look my heart always skips beats for.
"Really?"
I think at one point I had thought the same. But sometimes my memory is fuzzy.
"Yeah. I got my 5 years. Gotta go now."
She gets up and starts to walk away.
"Hey."
She keeps walking.
"Ly."
Nothing.
"I love you."
She turns around and smiles. "I love you too, dumbass. But I have to go to the bathroom."
"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE."
She laughs and walks in the bathroom.
I know she was joking. She had to be. I don't think she'd leave..... I don't think...
I crawl further in bed and curl up under the covers. She climbs in bed and pulls me on top of her.
"Give me another 50 years and them I'll leave you. I'll go searching for a new love when I'm 70 and life will be perfect, old and ugly."
I lightly smack her arm and laugh. "You're terrible."
"So not? I was really hoping to spend forever with you."
"50 isn't forever. You just said you'd leave me."
"I was kidding. But I still want to work towards that 50. And then maybe forever after."
"You got a semi deal."
"Semi?"
"Will you love me when I turn old and grey? Imma be droopy."
"J. Define droopy."
"My boobs."
"I have no idea. I have so many questions but I don't want them answered."
I laugh against her. "Mhm. 50 and then forever."
"And always, don't forget always."
I roll my eyes. Mocking me. I was tired then... I am tired now..
"Jamie.." She whispers for me to sleep.
"Mm."
"Koala.."
"Nn."
"Jamie.."
Fuck...
"I love you, Ly."
"I love you too, Koala." I faintly hear her whisper to me.

No need for an alarm clock. Thank you, one kid who cries and then wake the other. You magical little blessings.
"You seem cheerful, J."
"I. Need. Coffee."
"Yeah, yeah. I know."
She grabs Andrew and I grab Alex. We all head downstairs. I stare at the coffee pot, waiting for it to be done. At this rate, I could have gone to Europe and gotten coffee.
"Momma."
I look over at Alex.
"I sorry."
Oh yeah. Me too. Coffee's taking forever.
Lynn quickly covers her mouth but I heard a small laugh, which she played off as a cough.
"For?" I engage in Alex's conversation.
"Running in house"
The coffee pot dings and my life is joyess again. Fuck. Yes.
Lynn runs out of the kitchen, I hear her burst out laughing in the hallway. Alex gives me a funny look.
"Thank you for apologizing, Babygirl."
It's not my fault. Coffee... has become life...
I pour me a cup as Lynn walks back in. She turns around and walks back out, laughing.
"It wasn't that funny." I call out behind her.
"What's wrong with mommy?"
"I have no idea, babygirl. Your mother is just insane."
"Insane?"
"Yeah." I kiss her cheek. "You tell the world."
I wasn't expecting it. Nope. Wasn't expecting.
"MY MOMMY IS INSANE." She yells loudly.
"And on that note." I run behind Lynn and go upstairs.
"JAMIE." She yells for me but my ass is gone.
I can hear Alex chanting "MOMMY'S INSANE."
She laughed at me. I had to tell Alex something cause she asked what was wrong with Lynn. Not my fault.
I say that a lot now. But it's not. And it's funny.
I start my work, and Rose's, my day has only just begun. I didn't eat but I got my coffee and that's all that really matters.
But Lynn will know I didn't eat. And come up here. And her chooses are to kill me or give me food. Or let me eat and then kill me. Either way, I'm dead.

~ 'Is he okay?'
Andrew is fine. Go rest, sicklingbish.

Double checking myself now is like triple. Cause I'm also doing Rose's work.. I mean, extra pay is nice.. But my OCD is outraged and it's giving me a headache.
Warm hands rub my shoulders lightly and makes me tense.
"Heeeey, babe. Did you know I'm insane? I didn't know I was insane. I guess I'm insane." She speaks fast and starts to laugh in a creepy manner.
I continue doing codes. Trying to ignore how creepy she's being. Seriously wondering why I'm not dead.
"You're not dead because I have a use for you."
"And then I die."
"Yes. And then you die."
"What is your use for me?"
"Forever." She pauses. "With a lunatic."
I can't help but burst into laughter. She spins the chair so I face her. She has a serious look on her face.
I look down to see giant red stains on her shirt and pants.
"I took care of the kids."
"Only because I know that's juice am I going to say this: You really do sound fucking insane and look like you murdered them."
"And how do you know it's not their blood?"
"Because you smell like sugar." I bite my lip. She always smells sweet, like fruitypebbles.... But it's like someone coated it with pure sugar......mmm.
"I'm suppose to look like a crazy person with blood on them. Not like a mom who's kid went nuts and spilled her juice all over her."
I get up from my chair and Lynn backs away.
"Jamie.."
I push her against the wall. Tries to push me away but I stand up slightly and kiss her cheek. She stop trying to push me away.
"Oh."
"What you think I was going to do?" I laugh and walk back to my chair.
"You looked like you were crazy."
"Gotta admit. Thought of licking the sugar from you sounds amazing. But I have to work. And I don't really have time..." I look down. "Seems to be like that a lot of the time with us lately, doesn't it?"...
And it is. I feel like it is. Lately we haven't had too much time together.
Too busy with work. Too busy with Alex. I don't even really remember when we last went on a real date.
We still make love, yeah... And it's always beautiful.. It's just bombarded by a million other things that force it in a tiny time frame.
I really miss her. I miss everything. It's just some things we can't do anymore. Some things are too time consuming. Or we both are tired.
