Chapter 62

-ROSE'S P.O.V-

My night.. is going absolutely weird.
"Rose, I need a little help here."
"Of course, babymama."
She laughs at me and hands me the oven mitts. I quickly grab the stuff from the oven and puts new batches of food in the oven. Her dad pats my back as he comes back in the kitchen.
"When Jamie called me that, I literally almost died laughing."
"But it's true. You've got a babybump."
"I know, Sam. And I feel fat."
A second later her phone dings and she checks. "Okay. So. Not fat." Another ding from her phone and she smiles.
I sigh. "You guys are too cute."
"Your turn next, Rose."
"Nooot so fast."
"We didn't really move that fast. Jamie and I are ready. That's a lie. We're not... but it's an adventure that we're in together."
I get a text.
~She misses you. -Jamie.
~I miss her too. How are you doing?
~Fine, I guess? Worried. Will you take care of her for me? In the morning if she gets sick? -Jamie.
~I swear on my life, Jamie. I will do everything I can to make sure she's just as perfect as you left her this morning.
~Thank you. You're the bestest friend I could of asked for. -Jamie.
~What about Abby?
~Oh. You know. Abby is Abby. No one can replace Abby. She's my best friend too. And also just hit me. -Jamie.
~Gotta help your babymama finish cooking.
~No heavy lifting? -Jamie.
~On it. :)
Lynn smiles at me. "I trust you. But she doesn't trust the world around me. Always so afraid I'll get hurt."
"I don't blame her, Lynn. You'd do the same if she was pregnant."
"I do the same always anyway."
"Exactly, babymama."
She laughs again and nudges me.
"I can hear you, Sam." Lynn says.
"DAMN IT." She yells.
"I didn't hear you." I say.
"Thank you for lying to me." She says as she kisses my cheek.
"Of course."
"How are things with Zack?" Lynn asks.
"Oh god. Absolutely amazing. He's actually doing most of the wedding plans, which is great. And his parents seem glad to have me being added to the family."
"Have you scared them yet?" I ask.
She smirks and nods.
"You're such a good Ninja."
"Zack got me a katana for Christmas."
"IS HE FUCKING CRAZY? I DON'T WANT TO DIE." Lynn's dad yells.
Sam laughs evily. "I know how to wield it pretty well. Haven't chopped off a limb yet. Though I was close.. to cutting Zack's.. uh."
Her face grows extremely red.
"But I didn't mean toooooo. It missed...and hit his inner thigh. He was so mad"
I can't help but laugh, Lynn and Lynn's dad join in.
"It's not funny. He wouldn't let me near him for a week."
"No booty call for Sammy." I say and she slaps me playfully.
"He wouldn't even let me cuddle."
"Awwww. No cuddle buddddyy." I whine.
"Fuck off, Rose."
"Oh, come on, Ninja. If I had a dick and Zee did that to me, I would be scared shitless and mad at her."
"But you don't have a dick?"
I wink at her. Her face grows red again.
Lynn covers her mouth trying to hide a laugh. After a deep breath she speaks again. "Sorry, Ninja. I agree with Rose on this one."
"Is it normal for a father to not feel awkward listening to this?"
"Yes." We all say.
"Oh. Well. That's good? Or bad? I don't know." He laughs awkwardly.
"ANNNNYYY WAAAAYYY." Lynn yells. "How do you like the house?" She asks.
"It's beautiful. It's perfect. I love it. I'm surprised we got it so soon and were able to move in so quickly."
"Weeeellll. I may have helped? Told the marketer your fiance is a twin who lives not too far and she said she'd cut a good deal." Lynn's dad said.
"Are you serious? You helped?"
He nods. I walk over and hug him. As I pull out of the hug, he smiles. "Family is family, Rose."

"You know I won't sleep without Jamie."
"I won't sleep without Zee either."
"I'll sleeeep." Sam whines.
Lynn and I laugh. "Sleep for us both, NinjaSam."
"Gladly. Zack has been keeping me up all nights just to plan a wedding that isn't for another year or so."
"Not going to lie, Zee did the same for a bit."
"Jamie and I didn't. We agreed on almost everything instantly."
"And now you're a babymama." I say and she smacks me while laughing.
"Does it scare you?" Sam asks and looks up to Lynn.
"Yeah, but I know I'll be alright as long as Jamie is with me."
"Is it weird I want Andrew soon?"
"No. I think you should go for it. After you get married and have your honeymoon, of course."
"Yeah but it scares me."
I get a text and check my phone.
~Zee says she misses and loves you. -Jamie.
~Tell her I love her too. And I miss her so much.
~Got it. -Jamie.
Lynn is on her phone most of the night texting Jamie. And as I swore, I look after her to make sure she is safe. I don't let anything happen to that baby as long as she's in my care, so to speak.
I do want Andrew soon too. I have dreams about him every other night. About our kids. About when Zee gets pregnant. Just about the future... It's beautiful and I want it all.
I've got the house from my dream. I've had the love of my life by my side for 6 years now. And I'm about to marry her.
Lynn rests her head on my shoulder and sighs. "You're screwed, Rose."
"Why?"
"Because you're marrying into this family. And Jamie is fucking crazy sometimes. So. I can only imagine what will happen once you fully commit to Zee. You'll have no way out and she can truly be her crazy self."
I get a text from Jamie.
~She's right ;) -Jamie.
And then a string of texts.
~And if you don't show up to the wedding. -Jamie.
~I will personally murder you. -Jamie.
~I'll make sure you watch yourself bleed. -Jamie.
~And when you don't feel anything from the blood lost anymore... -Jamie.
~I'll wait until you can feel it all again. -Jamie.
~And then I will kill you. -Jamie.
~But that's if you don't show up. But you love my sister, don't you, BEST FRIEND? Cause I would hate to have to kill my bestie because she broke my sisters heart after she proposed. ;) -Jamie.
Lynn is in laughter next to me. Her phone dings and she only grows a wider smile as she laughs. She quickly types something in her phone and looks at me before typing again.
I know for a fact my face is red. I know for a fact my ears are probably red too. I may be tan but holy shit I'm so scared that I feel my body's blood boiling.
There's a ding and I look to my phone.
~I love you, Rose. You know that, right? -Jamie.
I look up to Lynn who raises her eyebrow. I honestly have no clue what to fucking do.
"Zee said something similar to me the night before our wedding. Jesus fuck it was scary and I'm still a little terrified of her. Jamie just laughs about it."
I take a deep breath and scream out "WHAT THE FUCK!?"
Sam, Lynn and Lynn's dad laugh at me. Another ding on my phone, I'm afraid to check.
~She said to remind you of the fountain. -Jamie.
OH. Yes. Lynn's dad was able to set up a fondue and chocolate fountain, which he will put up tomorrow.
~Is she sleeping?
~Not yet. -Jamie.
An hour later, Lynn's phone goes silent, mine does too. Lynn's dad is snoring on their couch and Penelope in the bed with us, laying on Sam like she's her pillow. And Sam is alseep, the crazy ninja.
I hear Lynn sigh, I grab her hand and she squeezes it.
"I miss my girl too. But don't stress about it, babymama."
She nudges me lightly and hides a soft laugh.
"I think you enjoy being called that."
"The mama part."
"You got about 6 or so months."
"Mid October."
"Duuuuude. If she's born late and on Halloween, I will love her forever." Sam says.
"Thought your ass was asleep."
"Of course you did." She laughs lightly. "But when have I ever given you a reason to trust me?"
"Though that is true, I trust you. Sometimes." I say.
"As long as I don't end up dying, I trust you." Lynn says.
"You're holding the new ninja of the family. I shall not kill the precious."
We burst into laughter.
"In my dream I nicknamed her Panda."
"See. Definitely ninja material." Sam says.
"My granddaughter is going to be next Samurai Panda." Her dad says as he groans.
"You alright over there dad?"
"No. I need a pillow and Daisy won't get off my face."
I can clearly see Lynn smiling. I laugh lightly.
"So. October baby. It's cute. I'm excited for you." Sam says.
"Yeah."
"You're next, Rose."
"No. I'm not. Not yet. I mean. I want to? But am scared? I don't know?"
"How long have you been with Zee?" Lynn asks.
"6 years."
"How long did you want to propose?"
"Well... Honestly.. the moment I knew I loved her."
"So think of that moment. The moment when you looked into her eyes and everything clicked. The very moment you started falling for her. You think of that while she is holding your hand and you will get pass anything rough. Trust me. If I can do it, you can."
I nod. "Have you got a Godmother and Godfather picked out?"
"Jamie wants uh.. Mike." She hesitates in her response.
"That's only father."
"We're still working on godmother. We dooo have a lot of female best friends and stuff."
I guess I can see where it would be hard to pick. I mean, Zee and I will have to pick sooner or later too. Things go quiet for a while. Just for a while.
I almost fell following Lynn into the bathroom. As promised to Jamie, I hold her hair back and sit behind her. I've watched how she would do this with Jamie and her chemo a few times.
As she finishes she falls back against me.
"Thank you." She barely whispers out.
"Of course."
She goes for another one and her dad walks in.
"Morning sickness?" He yawns.
Lynn flops back against me again. After a moment she answers. "Mhm."
"Your mother hated me when she got sick in the mornings with you."
Lynn laughs lightly. He helps her up and she cleans her face and brushes her teeth. After she's done her eyes turn to me.
"Come on, Groom. It's time to get everything set up and you married."
"Fuck."
A knock on the front door has us all running downstairs. Though my eyes stay locked on Lynn to make sure she's safe. When the door opens, I can only smile.
My dad stands tall, dressed in his uniform and in salute. I run up to him and hug him.
"Hey Rosie. You ready for today?"
"I believe I am."
"Then let's go. Tell me what I need to do and I will do."
I nod.
Within 30 minutes we have everything in the cars, ready for transport. We head across the lake to set everything up. It's when it's done being set up is my thing.

It didn't take long for me to be ready to go. I dyed my hair so it's my original color.. I put it in the messy bun that Zee always loves when I wear.
I'm not wearing any makeup. So all I had to focus on was my tux. Which My dad helped me with. And somehow I'm here. Standing at the doors about to walk out on the aisle with dad.
As the doors open, my life starts to become more real, yet seem like a dream. In a complete trance until my dad helps me step up to the platform. Jamie's eyes go to mine for a moment and she smiles to me.
All gazes shift to the doors and so does mine. Zee starts to walk out...
An angel starts to walk to me. The way her eyes lock on to mine.. the way.. she's making my heart beat so intensely.
As my dad hands me her hands, I help her on the platform. And all I can bring to voice out ...
"Hey, babygirl."
But she smiles. She smiles so brightly and laugh a lightly. "Hey?"
I bring her hand to my lips and lightly kiss my rings. Her eyes shine bright with nothing but pure love. She glances to her sniffling mom and back to me.
And the ceremony begins with the preacher's subtle 'Ahem'.
