Chapter 96

-LYNN'S P.O.V-

So. This happened. This is madness.
"PANDA." I call out.
"Yeah, ma?" She comes running in.
"Why is there mud everywhere?"
She points to Tim.
"I didn't do it." He crosses his arms.
"Come on guys. You're too old for this."
"I'm serious. I didn't do it." Tim says.
"Okay, who did it then? Cause mud handprints on the floor suggest otherwise."
"What's going on?" Jamie comes in the kitchen as she's finished working.
"Okay, so. One of these hoolagins made this mess and neither are confessing."
"5 for the one who actually did it to come forward." Jamie says.
"I did it." Alex blurt out.
"5 days of grounding."
"Oh that's not fair, mom."
"What's not fair is coming down from work and walk in to mom being mad. Or all fair in love in war. Whatever way you wish to see."
Alex sighs. "I'll clean it."
"I guess I'll help." Tim offers.
I take Jamie's hand and we head out in back. Alex and Tim follow after they clean up. I sit on the edge of the pool and stick my feet in.
"What are you going to be doing in class tomorrow, Panda?"
"I don't want to go."
"You skipped 2 grades, Alex. You're smart. And I'm sure you know you're not getting out of going."
"Probably more math."
"What's 8008135?" Jamie jokes
I smack Jamie and she falls in the pool.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS, LYNNDSIE?"
"Oh yeah. You asked for it though."
She groans and climbs out. She pushes me in before she sits down. I splash her and climb out.
"Mom can I ha" Alex starts.
"No." Jamie cuts her off.
"But I want it."
"Dinner first, babygirl. I'm not putting my butt on the line for you again because you wanted a cookie."
"Or 10."
She grumbles and sighs. "Fine. Dinner first."
Jamie gets up and pulls me up with her. "You cook. I clean. Kids eat. Sleep. We be good?"
"Sounds like a plan."
We go in and I start dinner. As I cook, she cleans after me. The kids eat, like pigs...like Jamie.
She smacks me lightly but smiles cause she knows I'm right.
As the kids go to bed, so do we. I'm glad to be in bed. With Jamie. Finally.
"I don't want to deal with Alex when she hits puberty." Jamie leans up and looks to me.
"At least with Tim it will be easy?"
"I don't want to be a grandma. But I'm also completely unaware of how the fuck that works..." Jamie shudders. "And I mean, he has Andrew. And dad to help. But I don't want to come home to find someone in his room and a little notice saying he got a girl pregnant."
"Or guy."
"Nah, Ly. He's straight."
"And Alex?"
"Alex is me."
"Dream?"
"Oh yeah. Oh yeah."
I roll my eyes.
"But I don't want to go through being a grandma so soooon."
"You would be 34. That's not terrible."
"Fuuuuuck." Jamie covers my mouth. "Don't say such ages. I look ugly and old now. Oh Christ no."
I lick her hand and she pulls back. "Don't you dare say that shit again, Jamie."
"Okay, okay. But still. Maybe let me hit 40." She pauses. "OH GOD I'M SO OLD."
I laugh and kiss her cheek. "You're good babe. Still look sexy as ever."
She groans. "Sure."
She lays back down and nuzzles close to me. Her heart slows and she starts to fall asleep.
"I love you, Ly."
"I love you too, Koala."
"Forever." She breaths our as she fully gives in to sleep.
"And always."
I'm not sure when this really started. Around after Tim. But I don't think I can live without it.
I fall asleep too. To her and all she is. I fall.

Jamie runs through the house and knocks loudly on Alex's door.
"Alex, open doors only."
Alex opens the door and sighs. "Better?"
"Hey Mrs. James."
"Hey Jessie."
I walk next to Jamie and laugh. "Leave them alone."
"Keep your pants on. And door open."
"Mom... I'm a virgin." Alex lies.
"And I'm an idiot." Jamie mocks.
"Is it better to know I wouldn't unless it's protected?"
"Yes but also no. I have no offense to you, Jessie. Just she's.."
"You're daughter who you love and don't want pregnant too young." Jessie says.
"Right." I answer for Jamie.
I laugh and push Jamie out of the doorway. "Pants on. Door open. Don't make me a grandma."
"I promise, you won't be a grandma so soon, Mrs. James."
"Jessie, it's Lynn. You make me feel old."
"You are old, ma."
"SHE'S NOT OLD. I'M NOT OLD." Jamie yells from down the hall.
"You heard it yourself. Anyway. Pants on. Dinner is in 30."
"Did she seriously run up here because the door was closed?" Jessie asks.
"Listen, Jessie. We love you, we do. But you have a..uh ... and it's fine, you are perfect the way you are." Jessie smiles to me.
"However, Jamie has her worries and doesn't want Alex to get hurt in anyway shape or form. Also is afraid she will be a grandma before she's ready. Trust me when I say this, she's more kid than any of us in this house."
"But ma, I'm 17. She's got to lighten up sooner or later."
I can't help but grow a smile. "You're always going to be our babygirl, Panda."
"Do you have to call me that? I have a guest."
"Paaaaannnnndaaaaa." Jessie says in a mocking manner.
I offer for a highfive and Jessie takes it. Alex groans and rolls her eyes.
"Oh come on, babe. It's cute. It's not like I haven't heard it over the pass year." Jessie kisses Alex's cheek.
My heart races quickly... Jamie.
"Stay upstairs Alex..."
"Yeah." Alex nods to me and I run quickly down to Jamie.
Jamie falls to the floor before I can get to her. I take her necklace off quickly and help her on her side. My hand though...
Lifting my hand I see blood. I look where my hand was and see a kitchen knife has cut across her leg. My heart drops quickly.
"ALEX. TIM." I call for them... to help me..
Tim comes running in. Jamie finishes her seizure and I sigh. Tim hands me the medkit. I take care of Jamie's leg the best I can. This isn't the first time...
"Seizure?" Alex says as she walks in.
"Yeah. She will be okay."
I lift her up and walk over to the couch in the living room and lay her down. I go back in the kitchen and clean up the mess.
"Did she over work herself today?"
"No?" Tim says.
"Not that I know of. I got home when you did."
I finish dinner in a few minutes and serve for everyone. Jamie will be out until later but I know she will be hungry when she wakes so I had put a made plate for her in the fridge.
Jessie leaves and both Alex and Tim go to bed. I carry Jamie to our chambers and lay with her. My poor baby.
I fall asleep to her in my arms. She's my angel and I need to have her in my arms to sleep. Always and forever.. forever and always.

Jamie pokes me. I groan.
"Let me sleep."
"We can't. Ly, Alex leaves today."
"She could do it online. Like you did. And she could stay here in state."
"Babe. Get up. It's not like she doesn't have Jessie to help and protect her."
I slowly get up but regret it. She kisses my cheek.
"Well sleep later."
"No cause them we have to be at parent teacher conference thingy."
"Yeah, we will sleep after that."
I roll my eyes and laugh.
We get up and start getting ready. Alex is getting her things in her car and Jamie hugs her. Jamie noticeably starts to cry.
"Why did you grow so fast?"
"Because my mom's have done their jobs right."
Jamie laughs at her response.
I take Alex in a hug as Jamie pulls back. "Call every day?"
"Of course."
"Keep her safe?" I look at Jessie.
"Of course Mrs. James."
"Lynn. It's Lynn. You should have this down, Jessie. It's been how long."
"2 years."
"Exactly."
I pull from the hug and sigh. Jamie takes my hand and lightly squeezes.
"I love you mom. I love you ma." Alex says as she drives away.
Tim runs behind us and does his daily questioning.
"Ma. I'm 16. Alex got her car when she was 16. Can I please have your car?"
I laugh loudly. "In your dreams, Glacier. You're not getting my baby."
"Damn." He whispers.
"Run that by me again?" Jamie says.
"I said dang."
"And I was born yesterday." Jamie says.
Tim runs in the house and we follow close behind. He sighs as he heads to his room. He's not getting my car. Not happening.
"Now we nap?"
"Yeah. Teachers called it off cause of end of school day."
"YAAAAY." I raise my hands in the arm and wave them as I run to our room. She flops on the bed next to me and does her snowangels.
"It was like yesterday Alex was a baby. Like yesterday Tim didn't ask you for your car. It's crazy."
"I know, J. I know. It's crazy."
"Madness."
I lean over and kiss Jamie.
"But it's forever."
"And always. Don't forget always."
She laughs at me and I can't help but smile to the beautiful sounds.
She crawls on me and lays with me. I squeeze her lightly. She starts to fall asleep quickly.
"I love you, Ly."
"I love you too, Koala."
"Forever."
"And always."
To this I have fallen asleep to for years. To this I am happy. To this.. To Jamie..
With Alex off to collage. Tim still in highschool... I don't think we did bad. But all our dreams came true..
All this lead to this very moment. Where we are in each others arms. A ending where it's us... and our family. Our forever and always.
So many adventures we will continue to take. So many we are getting ready for. But for now.. for now.. in this moment, it's perfect.
A perfect happily ever after. A wonderful end to a beautiful beginning. I still keep my promises and so does Jamie.
We've been in sync for all time and I think will stay that way. This beautiful moment where all that matters is her. Her and our family.
We have our dreams. We have our life the way we wished. We've got many adventures to go but as long as I'm with her, I say bring them on.
With Jamie, I have my ending to my perfect life. This perfect life of Alex and Tim and Jamie... this is the begin of my ending.
I kiss Jamie's forehead as she sleeps and hold her slightly tighter. This bond is forever and always. It's all I need.
