The carriage ride to the cemetery was quiet again. They all looked out of the window thinking there own thoughts. "Brothers" Lilitu looked up at the twins.
"Yes dear?"
"Tell me a story about her." The twins looked at each other with a sad look in their eye.
"Any particular one you want to hear?"
"The one about when you all were left to take care of Sebastian and Murmur when mother and father went to the royal banquet." Her eyes glistened.
"No nannies were available and mother and father had to go to this royal banquet. They couldn't take only a few of us but they couldn't take all of us as Sebastian was only young and Murmur was only a few millennium old" Gilgamesh began to explain.
"We thought it would be easy mother always was so calm and collected. They were almost like angels around her" Enkidu smirked. Sebastian and Murmur grinned evilly at each other.
"As soon as she left we realised the true horror of young demons..." Gilgamesh shuddered.
"First it was teeth" Vapular told his sister. "Now we thought Sebastian had grown out of his biting phase... apparently not. Technically at his age he should have."
"I was a slow developer" Sebastian said innocently.
"The two of them working together. Biggest mistake mother ever made" Vapular shook his head.
"Next was the mess. It was like a herd of demon hounds had trampled through the place. They were loud, they wouldn't stop screaming and shouting. We eventually had to lock them in a room" Enkidu told his sister.
"They completely destroyed said room" Gilgamesh added on.
"Eventually Proserpine played some of the music mother has written, on a flute. It tired them out and they fell to sleep. Thank goodness."
"We all then worked together to tidy the whole house... it was hell... mother and father came home and it was like none of that ever happened."
"I thought that day was fun..." Murmur smirked.
"Of course you would" everyone laughed and Lilitu sat back content with herself, having made everyone smile."You've already seen my present" Bard explained to him. Ciel nodded smiling.
"Open mine" Meyrin smiled excitedly. The blue haired boy picked up the gift she was pointing too and opened it. Inside was a feather pillow which had a blue case. It was soft. "Thank you Miss Meyrin! Thank you" he smiled.
"I noticed that your pillow was a little flat last time that I went into your room." Finnians was heavy. He opened the box to reveal books! "There is one in French, one in Latin (it's a teaching book), and one that has pictures of England in. I found them in a book shop and just had to get them for you" Finny smiled. The two of them were very close and they spoke often about lots of different things. Finnian knew of Ciels love for the French language and that he was still learning Latin. He also knew of Ciels love for strawberries and sweets. "I love them. Thank you" Ciel was so grateful for the gifts.
"We have one last thing. It's a joint present from the three of us." The three servants brought out a larger box and Ciel looked at it. "You didn't have to get me so many amazing things."
"We know but we wanted to" they all spoke in unison. He opened the gift to reveal a new jacket.
"It's a work jacket. It has lots of pockets for holding things, yes it does" Meyrin explained.
"It's incredible. Thank you so much. I don't deserve all of this kindness" Ciel looked at the presents in front of him.
"You do Ciel."The family arrived at the cemetery, it was empty, no surprises really, there were only a few others buried in the graveyard. They made there way to a large stone underneath a tree. Kneeling beside the stone, the youngest children tended to the flowers. "Good afternoon mother" Vapular broke the silence. "I see father has already been here as he placed new flowers upon your grave."
"Mother I have brought something to show you" Murmur told the grave as he made his way back to the carriage bringing out a flute. He sat beside his sister and the family listened in to the boy playing a lovely, calming tune. One his mother had written all those years ago. The wind blew peacefully through the trees as the music danced between the branches.
"You always did have the skills of your mother." A voice cut through the air once the lad had finished.
"Father" the seventh child smiled running over to him hugging him.
"She would be so proud of you."
