The night was more restless than normal for Ciel as he tossed and turned and muttered for the most part. Freckles had gotten used to this by now and really didn't mind as he had night terrors sometimes too, mostly when he was alone, which he wasn't very often at all. Ciel was getting quite frantic tonight however, which startled the light sleeper next to him. Freckles awoke to Ciel's more frantic breathing and his muttering turned to shouting. The brown haired boy watched in fear as his friend jolted and kicked. He had to wake him up but as he climbed out of bed and leant over wake him the blue haired boy screamed. "DON'T TOUCH ME. LEAVE ME ALONE." Freckles stopped in his tracks it must be a nightmare, the poor boy. He didn't want to jerk him awake. He couldn't bring himself to shake him incase he got scared so the child did only what he knew helped him sleep. He sang, gently and quietly. He sung the nursery rhyme that got him through the toughest nights in thunder and lightning.

"Tom, he was a piper's son
he learn to play when he was young
the only tune that he could play
was "Over the hills and far away"
over the hills and a long way off
the wind shall blow my top knot off.

Now Tom with his pipe make such a noise
That he pleased both the girls and boys
and they did dance when he did play
"Over the hills and far away"
over the hills and a long way off
the wind shall blow my top knot off

Now Tom did play with such a skill
that those nearby could not stand still
and over all head of they did dance
down through England, Spain and France
over the hills and a long way off
the wind shall blow my top knot off"

Ciel still thrashed and kicked but the boy didn't stop singing. It seemed as though he had tired himself out because after a childlike, painful scream he fell back against the pillow and was silent once again. Freckles could hear footsteps running towards the room so he quickly slipped outside so no one came barging in and wake up Ciel. The first to arrive was Bard which was a shock. "I 'eard screaming is everything okay" quickly followed by both Finnian and Meyrin.
"What's happened?"
"Ciel is he alright?"
Freckles smiled weakly. "He was having really bad nightmares, I couldn't wake him up so I did my best to calm him and then he screamed and fell back to a quiet sleep. He's asleep now."
"Thank goodness." Meyrin sighed.
"Poor Ciel" Finny said sadly.
"He'll be okay" Freckles reassured them. "He's really strong. It's late you should all go back to bed."
"As long as everything is okay" Meyrin and Finny left but Bard hung back.
"Will you be going back to sleep?"
"I'll try."
"If you don't tell me in the morning. I'll sort some right easy jobs out for you." Bard smiled Freckles giggled he used to be really scared of Bard but he's actually rather sweet.
"I'll let you know" he laughed. Bard left and the child was stood in the hall way alone. He wanted to go back into the room but he didn't want to wake Ciel up. He wouldn't sleep the rest of tonight that's a given. He paced the corridor a little trying to tire him out when he heard a voice from down the hall. "You should be in bed" it was soft not scary but still made the child jump.
"I'm sorry sir. It's just Ciel was having nightmares and then he shouted and the others came down and..."
"I know it's okay. I could hear what was happening." Freckles looked down embarrassed.
"If you aren't planning to sleep again may I talk with you." The master asked. Freckles gulped but nodded. "Don't worry please. Follow me." Sebastian took his servant boy into the main room.

Freckles sat where his master told him to and just by habit he locked his legs together. "Freckles I am not upset or angry at you but I think it's time you know that I know you're not who you say you are. I've known for a long time. You don't have to hide it from me or any of the servants."
"I don't understand what you're talking about" the boy said softly knowing full well exactly what Sebastian was saying.
"I know that you were stolen from earth and brought down here to be sold and I know that you were abused by the men who previously owned you. That's all the truth." The child honestly had no idea where this was going. It seemed like he had almost forgotten his own identity being down here. It's not a bad thing actually it's helped him to become a new person. "You've told me the truth about nearly everything but I can see you struggling every day, I can see when you are sick, Freckles why haven't you told me you're a girl?"
