It was early in the morning on September 1st and I had actually gotten up and started getting ready before Eliza did. She was spending most of the summer with me and was still asleep in the bed we made out for her. I was very much enjoying the silence the early morning brought. I walked over to my desk and looked at some pictures from my first couple years at Hogwarts. I was looking at the pictures then back into the mirror on my vanity. I had never realized before how much I had grown over the years. My teeth were now a lot nicer, my hair didn't look as gross, and, well I'm still short but that's just a working process. I couldn't help but thinking of all my other friends will look, act, and talk. I then drew my attention towards my owl, Betty, that was still sleeping after a long night of flying around my back yard. I heard Eliza stirring behind me and I didn't want to seem like the girl who just wakes up calmly and waits for their friend to wake up. So, I quickly flopped back into my bed to make it seem like I was asleep. Eliza sat up in her bed with her dark coloured hair in her face.

"What time.." Eliza fell back down on her bed. "...should we get up?"

"Well my mum would normally be up here.." I looked at the clock on my nightstand. "4 minutes ago, but she's late for some reason. So it's really up to us." I said sitting up in my bed with dark navy galaxy themed bedding and matching curtains. "We don't want to be late to meet Evan, so we might want to get up soon."

"Yes, I suppose so." Eliza said stretching out on her bed.

Since I had been up for a while, I had no difficulty getting out of bed. Unlike Eliza. I now understand the struggle my family feels trying to get me up and going. Finally Helen came into to the room and turned on all the light and was singing/yelling about her excitement to go to Hogwarts.

"Helen!? What are you doing!?" I yelled as I turned off all the lights that Helen turned on.

"Ruth said you need to get up now!" Helen left the room without anymore explanation, like she often did so. Me and Eliza got up and ready to go and then we packed a few more things into our trunks. I got Betty ready to go and Eliza got her owl, Peggy, ready to go as well. I was about the leave my room, but I was forgetting something. I had to run back to my dresser and get my permission slip for a field trip. All the third years get to go to Hogsmeade. I put the slip into a pocket on my trunk, and grabbed the handle. I grabbed my owl cage and took off down the stairs with Eliza and out the front door.

It was almost a silent car ride, but thanks to Helen, the key word there is almost. The whole way there she was going on and on about the wonders she would see. My mum then followed Helen's babbling with a stern lecture towards me and Ruth about watching out for Helen. Then, after the forever and a day long car ride, we arrived at Kings Cross.

I gave my mum a hug goodbye and then left before I could get another lecture about keeping up with Helen. I was on the platform, when I saw a tall, dark haired, brown eyed boy, standing next to the train door. It was Evan Lexington! I nudged Eliza and we were trying to sneak up behind Evan but as soon as we were really close to him, he turned around really fast and scared us both.

"You two are so predictable!" Evan said laughing. As Evan said this I was astonished by how much his voice had matured.

"Whatever..." Eliza said gathering herself from the scare.

"Let's just get on the train." I said shoving my friends into the train. We found a compartment and Evan helped me an Eliza put our bags up. We sat down inside the compartment and began telling each other about our summer experiences.

"You aren't going to believe this but, I actually brought money so I can finally buy something from the trolley!" I said pulling money out of my bag. "I'll be right back!"
