Chapter 39

Natalie looked at Remyr who's intently driving. They are heading to her parents house to have dinner.

Nilingon naman niya ang anak niyang nakakunot noo na naglalaro sa Ipad.

"Mark?" She tried getting the attention of his son.

"Hmm? Mommy?" Mark answered without looking at her.

"Nothing. May I remind you na baka masobrahan ka nanaman kakagamit niyan. Let your eyes rest, please." Sabi niya habang umaayos ng upo dahil aayusin niya ang tali ng damit ng bunso niya. Natanggal kasi ito.

"Yes, mommy." Sagot nito.

"Love?" She called Remyr.

"Hmm? Love?" Napailing nalang siya dahil hindi rin siya nito nilingon at tutok sa kalsada.

Mag-ama talaga.

"Saan mo nilagay yung ilang lampin ni baby?" Tanong niya.

He looked back at me and went his eyes back again on driving.

"Nasa may blue na bag iyon. Mark place it on the back compartment. Why, love?"

Sabi nito sabay liko papasok sa may malaking gate ng bahay nila.

"Nothing. I thought I placed it on the other bag." Inayos na niya ang pagka buhat niya sa anak niyang 3 months old palang. Balak kasi nilang dito muna mag-stay sa bahay ng magulang niya. Tutal hindi pa naman siya makakapag-trabaho and Remyr is still on Paternity leave. Hatid-sundo nalang nila si Mark pagpapasok sa school.

She saw her mother and father waiting outside their house. Her mother has an excited look on her face while her father has a stern look. Napabuntong hininga siya.

Tinigil ni Remyr ang sasakyan sa may gilid at bumaba agad para pag buksan siya ng pinto. Hindi pa man siya nakaka-baba nauna na yung isang anak niyang makulit. Tumakbo ito papunta sa lolo at lola niya.

"Grand ma! Grand pa! We're here!" Sigaw nito at nag tatatalon pa.

"Akin na si baby, love. Ako naman mag bubuhat." Sabi ni Remyr. Binigay niya narin naman dahil medyo masakit narin ang mga braso niya.

Pakbigay naman niya dumakwang ito at hinalikan siya ng mabilis.

"I love you." Sabi nito sabay kindat. Her cheeks heatened because of his move. Damn that man. He never fails to make me giddy. Sabay silang naglakad papunta sa mga magulang niya.

"Good evening, Ma and Pa." She greeted and kissed both of them in their cheeks. Nag-bless naman si Remyr sa mommy niya.

"Let's get inside." Her father said. Nauna itong pumasok. Pinisil ni Remyr ang kamay niyang nakahawak. Tinignan niya ito. He looks so damn nervous. Pinisil niya rin ang kamay nito at nginitian ng maliit.

She knows that his father looks at Remyr as the man who hurted and Impregnated her at a young age.

And she knew that her father was glad when he heard about that Mark's father appeared. She was happy about it na kahit pakonti-konti natatanggap ng Ama niya si Remyr. But then, when that incident happen at their condo, her father got mad. Raging mad at Remyr reasoning why would he don't settle her woman first before going back to us. That he don't deserve someone like me and so on. Her heart crumbled.

Alam niya at nakita niya noon kung gaano ito kagalit nang sinabi niyang walang mananagot sa pinagbubuntisan niya. Halos hindi siya kinausap nito. Halos hindi makatingin sakanya at hindi sumama sa mama niya tuwing binibisita siya at pupuntang OB.

She shedded tons of tears because of that. To think that her very own father can't look at her own eyes, can't even stand her existence in a room.
But maybe that's how it works. How parents can't really ignore or abandon their own child. How endless their love is. And I know now the feeling. Maybe if I am in Dad's shoes, I will be disappointed and question myself if I did something wrong in taking care of my child.
