I laughed happily as I ran with my pack. Together, we howled at the moon. It's the best time of night, dinnertime. My brothers and sisters didn't need to collaborate how to catch our prey, we just knew. We all understood each other that well.

My pack is exceptionally smart. A few months after they accepted me as one of their own we began to communicate together well. They still spoke their language, and I spoke mine, but somehow we understood each other. Maybe it's just after five years of living with them I just started to understand, like immersion learning.

"Miyu, track the prey" my alpha barked at me. I nodded my head and activated my sharingan once again. I use my sharingan extremely often with my pack and have progressed it to its final stage. It's exceptionally useful for tracking prey and other enemies. With my vision and their sense of smell, nothing can escape us.

"To the left!" I called back receiving several howls of confirmation. Within minutes we had surrounded the deer. It was an easy catch, not something we had to chase for very long.

We all patiently waited, hidden, surrounding the deer. It was always the alpha's decision on when to strike. He was the strongest male in our pack and earned his title through battles against every other male in the pack. Because of this, he was also sort of stand-off-ish which was to be expected. After all, he had an entire pack to look after. In his eyes, we're all just pups who need his protection.

The alpha gave a sharp bark and we all closed in around the deer. Being a human, it wasn't often that I got to give the finishing strike since I was much slower than the rest of my pack, but I didn't mind so much. I didn't like biting through pelt.

Nao actually got to give the finishing bite this time. He usually did, since he was the fastest among us. The alpha appreciated his speed and often allowed him to lead the pack during hunts. I walked over to Nao and gave him a congratulatory pat on his russet colored head.

"Did you see me, Miyu? I was great!" I laughed at his ego.

"Yeah I saw, you took down that big bad deer!" I mocked him, knowing this was an easy kill. He huffed at me making me laugh again. It was easy to tease the teenage wolf and I took advantage of that.

"Stop messing around," the alpha commanded instantly shutting us up, "Mikoto and the others are waiting for us." within seconds, we had grabbed our kill together and began to lug it back home.

Mikoto was the alpha female of our pack, a light grey wolf who convinced the alpha to take me in as a child, and was currently pregnant with her and the alpha's first litter. He was a little paranoid. The rest of the pack thought it was funny, but of course we would never say this to his face. Being the alpha female, it was her job to care for the pack.

In a way, she sort of became like a mother figure in my life.

"Hello, Mikoto." The alpha greeted once we arrived home, "we brought dinner for you and the other pregnant females and pups." It was customary for only the older wolves to hunt; naturally no mothers or pups would leave the home. Being an unmated female of mature age, I was allowed to attend hunts.

"That's fantastic! Smells delicious." Mikoto complimented. She was always like that, permanently positive. She was filled with endless compliments and I swear she must be part sunshine or something. Even in the brightest days, Mikoto's positivity seemed to outshine even the sun.

Unable to handle their hunger any longer, the pack dug into the meal presented, I along with them. Together we ate and once the meat was gone, we chewed on bones to sharpen our teeth for the next hunt.
