What the hell is happening? I bet this moment is crazy dramatic and here I am, blind and on the floor like some sort of sea urchin.
"Kin finish her!" the sound ninja, I think his name was Dosu, yelled. I could feel the channeling of chakra as Sakura performed hand signs. The sound of fighting was before me as I hastily stood from the dirt.
Wanting to be useful, I took a defensive stance and sniffed the air for my targets. I paused for a moment... why do I smell three familiar scents?
Brushing off the odd phenomenon I drew a kunai and closed my useless eyes. If I stayed perfectly still and focused on my senses I was basically a sensory type ninja. So as long as no one attacks me I can pinpoint everyone.
I took a deep breath to help calm myself and fully delve into my senses. It might've taken me a while to figure out how to cope with my blindness but I think I was starting to get the hang of it. Maybe now I can be useful...as long as I don't need to move anywhere.
From a sensory viewpoint the battle was fascinating. Sakura switched herself out with logs to avoid and confuse her opponent, but at the last second she flew down from the treetops, skipping the switch step and landing on top of the enemy. She latched on with her jaw to the enemy ninja as he pounded away at her head.
With a deep breath I steadied myself and launched a kunai. The knife pierced the air silently and embedded itself into the enemy's hand as he raised it up to attack Sakura again, still latched onto his other arm.
"Ah, what the hell?" he yelled, "Don't just stand there, take care of the other girl!" he yelled at his teammates. The two other sound ninja approached me cautiously yet I stood firmly unmoving.
In the distance I could sense the enemy ninja, possibly Dosu, shake Sakura off his arm finally. Sakura flew into the dirt with a harsh thud while the two others, Zaku and Kin, flanked me.
Suddenly, three familiar chakra signatures emerged from the bushes.
"What the hell is Team 10 doing here?" I muttered. The sudden appearance of the three distracted us all.
"Ino... what are you doing here?" Sakura asked from the ground.
"I'm tired of you taking all the credit and showing off in front of Sasuke!" she spoke.
"Sasuke's unconscious." I told her flatly. She shot me a look, most likely a scowl.
"You Leaf ninja have a tendency to swarm like flies... getting involved in things that don't concern you." Dosu growled.
Team 10 then proceeded to banter as Choji tried to run away and Shikamaru and Ino held him there. I would've loved to listen, it would've been funny, but something else caught my attention. I turned my head to the side, towards Naruto and Sasuke.
Something wasn't right.
Sasuke was starting to emit some sort of oozing malicious chakra. It was odd... on one hand it made me a little sick to my stomach, but on the other hand it felt wild like the forest, which comforted me.
But the chakra itself wasn't the issue; the issue was how Sasuke obtained such a weird chakra. Was it from that bite he got from Orochimaru? Anything from that creep has to be bad news...
"Better a live sheep than a dead lion, right, fatso?" Zaku spoke drawing my attention back to the action. The Leaf ninja froze as Choji's temper spiked.
"Want to try saying that again?" Choji spoke in a calm tone.
"I said you're smart to get out while you can, fatty." Zaku spat.
