"What?! Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke were all hospitalized after the preliminary fights???" I screeched. Kakashi-sensei sighed and winced at my tone.
"Just thought you might want to know. From now until the end of the Chunnin Exams our team training will be postponed." He informed me monotonously.
"My whole team is in the hospital and you chose now to tell me? They've been in there for like a week! Why didn't you say anything, Kakashi-sensei?" my sensei gave me a bland look.
"Why didn't you ask?"
"Touché..." I slouched my shoulders. "Well, I guess I should go see how they're all doing..."
"Oh, and one more thing. Sasuke and I are headed to the mountains this afternoon for some one-on-one training before his finals round. You should come." I frowned at my sensei.
"Isn't Sasuke still in the hospital? And why would I come to a one-on-one training mission?"
"Do you really think Sasuke would stay in the hospital when he's only got a month before he fights Garra of the Sand?"
"Fair point..." I conceded, "but that doesn't explain why you want me to come."
"I figure it would be a good time to do some monitored Sharingan training. From what I've heard, you have little control over your Mangekyou Sharingan..." I nodded to him as he eyed me suspiciously. I still hadn't been able to explain to anyone how I got my vision back and I'm sure Kakashi-sensei was curious.
"Plus Sasuke suggested it." Kakashi-sensei added halting my thought process.
"He suggested it?" Kakashi-sensei nodded to me. "Sasuke?" he nodded again. "Sasuke suggested I spend a month with you two in the mountains? The same Sasuke that constantly calls me an 'idiot' and tells me to 'shut up' wants me around him while he trains?" Kakashi-sensei sighed.
"I was as surprised as you are. Maybe he doesn't hold as much animosity for you as you think." He suggested, "Well, I have to go. Bye!" he puffed away in a transportation jutsu.
"I guess all my questions scared him off... but I just can't believe that Sasuke wants to spend time with me... that's so..." I wanted to say weird, but I wasn't sure if that was what I was feeling. There was a strange fluttering in my chest. It felt like I couldn't breathe.
Maybe I'm dying.
I slapped myself on the forehead to knock some sense back into myself before making my way to the hospital. I haven't seen my teammates in a week and I'm sure they wanted to let me know how their fights were.
I made it to the hospital in record time. Team 7 was all in the same room. Sakura had long since been discharged and Sasuke was nowhere to be seen. Naruto was in his bed though, Sakura by his side with flowers.
Their faces lit up upon my entrance. Naruto immediately began to prattle on about his amazing defeat of Kiba. I was a little sad that Kiba lost, but was sure this would only encourage him to train harder. Sakura seemed to be curious about how I got my vision back, but with Naruto's rambling neither of us could get a word in.
Not that I minded so much... I was a little distracted anyways. I'm not sure I could hold a conversation what with my thoughts circling back to a certain raven-harried weirdo.
The whole day past me in a blur of absent minded thoughts about Sasuke. That damn boy needs to get out of my head! These stupid thoughts of him are going to drive me mad!
Frustrated with myself, I walked into my room to pack. Imagine my surprise when I find a tall white-haired sensei casually reading a book on my bed.
