"What's going on?" Sakura asked.
"You guys certainly took your time finish the exam! This exam is set up so that at the end of this test the exam-takers get to meet with current Chunnin, and I was lucky enough to get to meet with you!" Iruka paused to check the time, "you guys made it just in time. Congratulations! You passed the second exam! In order to celebrate, I would like to buy you all a round of ramen, but..."
"YES! We did it!" Naruto shouted cutting Iruka off.
"Moron." Sasuke scoffed at Naruto.
"Hey, listen until the end!" Iruka laughed as Naruto hugged him.
"We did it! We did it! We did it! WE DID IT!" Naruto shouted as he danced around the room. Sakura and Sasuke both collapsed on the floor.
"How does he have so much energy?" Sakura complained.
"Shut up, you moron." Sasuke snapped only to be ignored.
"Hey, Naruto, Iruka wasn't done speaking." I tried, only to also be ignored.
"Hey... Naruto, I've got more to say." Iruka tried but was also ignored.
"SHUT UP!" Sakura shouted finally causing Naruto to silence.
"So..." Sasuke started, "if we opened the scroll during the exam, what would you have done?"
"Sharp as always, Sasuke." Iruka commended, "this goal was to test your ability to follow orders in a mission. If you disobeyed those orders we were instructed to put you in a state of unconsciousness until the end of the exam. Good thing you guys didn't open them!"
"Good thing..." Sasuke sarcastically stated.
"Thank you, Kabuto!" Naruto cheered.
"Oh, sensei, what's the meaning of the writing on the wall? It looks like some words are missing." Sakura asked.
"Who cares? We passed!" Naruto interjected.
"I'm also here to explain that. Read this, it's the motto of the Chunnin written by the Hokage." Iruka told us.
"Chunnin have a motto?" I asked, wondering if other ranks had one too and if so why I didn't know about the Gennin motto.
"The 'Heaven' refers to the human mind and 'Earth' refers to the human body. If you lack Heaven seek wisdom, be prepared. For example, if Naruto's weakness is his brain then he should gain knowledge about the mission ahead. If you lack Earth run in the fields, seek advantages. For example, if Sakura lacks stamina she should continue to train hard. If you have Heaven and Earth you can succeed in the most dangerous mission. So if you have both then all missions become easy." Iruka finished his long-winded explanation.
"So the last sentence?" Sakura asked, somehow still not satisfied even with such a lengthy explanation from Iruka.
"These rules will guide a person's extremes." Iruka finished, "these last five days have tested your abilities to govern these extremes. Chunnin are often team leaders and many responsibilities fall on their shoulders. They need both Heave and Earth to succeed in the field. You guys have proven that you have what it takes to be Chunnin by passing this exam. With the Chunnin motto in mind, I want you guys to continue to challenge yourselves and continue to progress your extremes. That's all I have to pass onto you."
"Alright!" Naruto cheered again.
"You guys should be careful for this third and final test, especially you, Naruto. I worry about you..." Iruka started.
