I woke up in a hospital.

Not a super surprising occurrence since even now, lying motionless in a soft bed after medical treatment, my entire body ached. I was covered in wrapped bandages. If it weren't for the fact that my right leg, right arm, and face weren't wrapped I would look like a big ol' mummy. I groaned feeling an ache in my back as my weight shifted. As if my groan of pain was signal to allow entrance into my room, the hospital door slid open.

"How are you feeling, Miyu?" Rin, the nurse, asked me. I gave her a weak smile and she chuckled.

"I feel like I fell from 100 meters." I told her matter-of-factly. She began to wave her chakra-coated hands over me.

"I wouldn't expect you to feel good in your condition. You have a fractured skull, two fractured vertebra, three broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and a sprained ankle." She listed as I gaped.

"How the hell am I even alive right now?" she chuckled.

"That nice boy with the dark hair sprinted across town to get you here. If he hadn't done so then your broken ribs would've punctured your lung and you would've suffocated. It was so cute how worried he was about you." She cooed.

She must've been talking about Sasuke. What other dark haired boy is there? Well... I guess Kiba is a dark haired boy... and Neji... and Lee, and Shikamaru, Choji, Shino... come to think of it, other than Naruto I don't think I know any light haired boys.

"It was that Uchiha boy." Rin added with a smile.

I wrinkled my nose, unsure of how to feel about this. Should I be happy that he was worried about me? Friends are usually worried about each other, right? So it's totally normal. I shouldn't be feeling anything from his totally normal behavior. So why is my stomach fluttering?

Maybe a broken rib punctured it or something.

"Hey, Miyu's awake!" someone cheered from the doorway, a familiar yip of excitement following the cheer.

"Oh, you have visitors. I'm just about done here. You can go out, just be careful and try to stay off your feet. That means wheelchairs and constant supervision. Have a good day!" Rin cheered and left.

"Hey, Kiba. Hey, Akamaru." I greeted as the boys rushed to my side.

"Man, Miyu you got seriously beat up. If Naruto hadn't already chased him back to his dumb village I would've given that Garra kid a beating he wouldn't forget!" Kiba yelled, his anger poorly masked with his joking nature. Akamaru gave an adorable little puppy-caliber growl.

"Thanks, guys." I chuckled. As much as I wanted to brush the whole situation off with a 'he wasn't himself, it wasn't Garra's fault' attitude I was kind of having a hard time with the whole 'forgive and forget' deal.

Something about a fractured skull, two fractured vertebra, three broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and a sprained ankle tend to leave one in a less forgiving mood.

"Hey, Kiba, wasn't there something you wanted to ask her?" Akamaru barked causing Kiba to go blank-faced for a solid 30 seconds.

"Oh! Yeah. Weren't you blind? What was up with that?" Kiba waived a hand in front of my face and stuck his tongue out at me and I rolled my eyes, slapping his hand away.

"I was, briefly. But I'm better now." I assured hoping I wouldn't have to explain too many details. I already lied to Kakashi-sensei about Madara's help and didn't really want to lie to my best friend.

"So... what happened?" he pressed predictably as he leaned against the bed and twirled a piece of my snow white hair between his fingers.

"Just some weird Uchiha crap. You know I'm a branch family member, right? My blood is crazy diluted so my Sharingan takes more of a toll on me than what's expected." I surmised deciding to spare Kiba the complicated parts about my Mangekyou Sharingan stealing my vision from me only for nature chakra to give it back. He snorted in amusement.
